The side of the Australian packaging for the 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle reveals an interesting bit of information- a 250GB Kinect bundle is detailed, which includes a glossy finish instead of the matte on the 4GB, the Kinect sensor, a bonus headset and the high tech wonder that is composite AV cables.
Hardly shock of the year – but the big question is, how much is this going to cost?

I think they would make sure this is cheaper than any equivalent Sony bundle

“Knowing MS”? No disrespect but Sony are having the pricing troubles (or at least did have). It’s only Kinect that smarts a bit when it comes to console gaming on the Xbox.

Microsoft pwning their customers again.
This time by fixing the main gripe that everyone has with the new console: The matte finish, putting a 4GB hard drive knowing that people will buy that instead and spend a fortune on their 250GB hard drive.

Exactly! I’d take matte over glossy any day when I buy my electronics. MS just simply knows how to exploit the market.

The main problem i have with the 360s console is that it seems to attract dust like a magnate and its too glossy, i had finger prints on it so i wiped them off with a very soft lint free cloth and it now has loads of little scratches all over it. It should have been a matt finish. it so much quieter than my old 360 though.

Are the PS3 phatties to glossy too then?? I prefer them to the slim any day of the week!!

In my opinion they are far too glossy…mine was scratched to hel just from gentle wipes with a soft duster so i swapped it for a 250gig slim because i’d stopped playing on ps2 games and it was a matt finish, not to mention the facy that the slim ps3 looks a load better than the old fatty one.

um, why even bother with the 4gb model?
Surely anyone with half a brain would check out their peripheral prices before taking the plunge

I would quite happily have bought a 360 if you didnt have to pay for Live.
In the end I decided to cough up the big bucks and get the better machine.

Most casual gamers won’t think to check all the peripheral prices and this model already come with wi-fi.

why would anyone want 4GB of HDD space? fair enough, its probably aimed at casual gaming or younger people, but as time goes by they’ll get more into it… then what?

I understand why they do this but it’s a pretty nasty ploy on customers, a lot of people won’t understand that 4GB is pretty much useless.

When I first heard of a version with 4GB HDD I was convinced that it was a typo or some kind of joke. I really can’t see who whould feel a 4GB HDD was sufficient. I think all new 4GB HDD owners will realize that after a few weeks/months with their new console. It almost compares to a console with a bundled memory card… not really a killer setup…
Hopefully potential buyers are able to realize this or get sufficient advice to buy a proper version console.

The cost? £299 – simples. The kinect bundle for the 4GB is adding £100 to the cost so what’s the difference with this?

I thought game messed up with their email before, I thought 4GB, do they not mean 250GB… I stupidly thought Microsoft would ship with HDD’s from now on.
