We’re fairly certain Resistance 3 is in development but it appears it’s not as close to a release as many would think. David Kaye spoke to Shogun Gamer recently about using his voice talents in Batman: Arkham City but as he is the voice of Nathan Hale and Clank he has also been speaking to them about his work for Insomniac.
“Don’t know about Nate. There are some interesting developments always coming from Insomniac Games. We’re working on more R & C currently.”
If Nathan Hale doesn’t return for Resistance 3 Kaye could simply be out of the loop but with the amount of work he has done for Insomniac it would be surprising if he hasn’t heard something. All eyes are on something from the studio at Gamescom – we’ll let you know if anything appears.

interesting. il be getting both these games and am happy to wait until they are ready. whichever comes first makes little difference to me.

Insomniac make great games but they really need to make a full on RPG type R3 much like the way multi-player was in R2 only really expand on it.

Hmm… not sure I care.
I didn’t enjoy R2 as much as R1, especially online… I spent hours online with the first Resistance, but barely touched the second online at all. Single-player was okay, but the co-op mode was tedious… run here, shoot this, lather, rinse, repeat.
And I didn’t enjoy A Crack in Time anywhere near as much as Tools of Destruction, either. I was excited when I read about all the side missions prior to release, but the game as a whole just didn’t feel a big as ToD. And while I understand the reasons for story continuity, I didn’t like having Ratchet without Clank for the entire game.
For me, both series need a re-boot, but – if I’m honest – I think R&C have run their course now; it’s starting to get a bit Mario-esque… endless games, all basically the same.
I’m much more interested in seeing the new IP Insomniac have promised.

I agree won R2. R1 was the first console FPS I really got into online and I played it to death, it was epic. R2’s single player campaign was really good too but online was a bit dull. I’m not a fan of the RPG style with classes and all that.

It’s possible it could just be Heroes on the Move. I mean Clank is in that game,so I would assume he at least says a few sentences, which would require his voice actor.
Meanwhile he may not know about Insomniacs other project, especially if it doesn’t feature Nathan Hale at all, which means no need for the voice actor.

That’s what i’m thinking too – hopefully it’s that Heroes Move game, which is fine as it will at least bring Jak and Daxter onto PS3 at last and maybe pave the way for a brand new Jak and Daxter game. That would be much fresher than yet another Ratchet and Clank game.

I’m not a fan of Ratchet and after the glut of games this gen they need to give the series time to breathe, and for some hype to build back up.
I’d much prefer a return of Jak & Daxter (along the lines of The Precursor legacy please) but Naughty Dog are probably more interested in Uncharted3 (which although I am excited for, think it would benefit from an extra year away)

At least if they are not yet making Resistance 3, they could learn something from Singularity; especially the first level.

And the train boss. That seemed very Resistance-esque.

Heroes on the Move…

Thats what i thought …

Anything Insomniac make is great. Ive played (and 100%ed or completed at least twice) every insomniac game except disruptor =]

i’m guessing this is why it was absent from E3?

Please just take a break from Ratchet. We had enough for now.
