PlayStation Move Media Kit Unboxing

Yesterday we published our detailed hands on with PlayStation Move (and its key launch games) and today we can show you the Move Media Kit in all its glory.

It’s truly a smashing bit of promotional material: although you can’t really see it in these photographs the shiny blue box appears to house a spherical object inside of it and once open contains the PlayStation Eye, a Move controller, some disks and some instructions.

We’ll have lots more on PlayStation Move and its games over the coming days and weeks, so keep it locked to TheSixthAxis.

  1. It look nice, can’t wait till I can get it here

    • i dont think the retail version will have that fancy packaging, they would want to keep price down. Altho the attention to detail Apple put into there packaging means i guess that other companies can find a way of budgeting it in, so we may get this cube design on launch

      • Hopefully we get more colours other than just blue, perhaps pink, yellow, orange, all the colours the orb on the ps. move controller can do, will be cool, I heard it can do virtually any colour that can be done on a RGB Display, all well.
Day 1 buy for me =P

  2. What’s the ball/orb thing feel like? Is it rubbery or squishy? Plastic-y?

    • Yeah like a squishy rubbery feel to it

      • yeah, i couldn’t believe it when Jason Bradbury squashed it on Gadget Show on Monday (his hands on is on the Demand5 section of YouTube if you’ve not seen it, or of course Demand5 itself)

I had the impression it would be solid for some reason, or a hard plastic.

      • I remember reading psm3 a couple of months ago, they said the 1st thing they did was squeeze then end, and the demonstrator told them off for doing it

      • Well i now know what ill be doing when im waiting for the games to load… (i play music with my Dualshock triggers atm when im loading up something)

Also maybe it acts a stress ball, so if your on a hard level, you squeeze it and makes you feel more relaxed? Lol

      • Wonder what happens if it permanently ends up distinctly un-spherical or a baby or dog chews it?

Will the Eye still recognise it, seeing as it only sees depth from the relative size of the sphere.

Wonder if Sony will sell replacement orbs or they’ll want us to buy a whole new unit.

This is a very good question actually …

      • What?! I always thought it was hard. It still changes colour though doesn’t it?

    • will it survive a saturday night drink session which will end up with me crashing out on said controller and waking the next morning wondering why its broke?

  3. So didnt you guys get any Navigation controllers??? and when the official UK release date again??
