F1 2010 Dated & Gameplay Vid

Today, Codemasters have let us know the array of release dates for when we can get our grubby mitts on F1 2010. In pole position are the lucky residents of the good ol’ US of A who can pick up the title on September 22nd, joining them on the podium is Europe on the 23rd. Finally, limping over the line in last place is the UK on September 24th, with our usual inflexible Friday release dates.

If you can’t wait until then to get your racing gloves and helmet on, the newly released gameplay footage will probably tip you over the edge.

  1. Of course, because the US loves their F1 and we don’t care a jot about it here!

  2. I’m counting the days lol….waited forever for this game.

    • forever meaning since F1 2009? haha
In all seriousness though, it really is looking like a great game
It should do race fans over nicely until the release of GT5 and even then will still probably get a bunch of hours game time from it.
only hope we get a demo before release!

      • Exactly mate, we have waited since F1 championship edition, which a PS3 release game.

    • Wow I thought 2009 was released on Playstation 3 but it seems it wasn’t
      my mistake..
I never bought F1 championship edition but based on the amount of time i put into the demo and how much i enjoyed it, i really should have picked it up

  3. Why is the US first? they have thier own motorsports and its likely the most boring to ever experience..

    • “…with our usual inflexible Friday release dates”

      • Which is rubbish.

      • Its when the reatilers want games released. I’d assume they must have some evidence to prove it benefits sales by releasing games on Fridays.

  4. cannot wait, can’t be bothered with GT5 now though.

  5. If they want me to buy it the should do a demo. GT5 will be getting my money easy.

  6. cant wait 2 c wot online is like

  7. cant wait for this, going to be an epic game, ive seen the trophy list also, sad news it include `flashbacks` doesnt seem to fit into this type of game for me, just hope they pull it off, or you can turn it off….i want full simulation!

    • well… if you don’t like the flashbacks, don’t use them? They’re a clever device that’s there for those who aren’t too good at racing. Think of it like the driving aids and elasticity of AI that help bridge the gap between you and, say, Lewis Hamilton.

If you don’t want them, then turn them off.

    • If its like other Codies racing games then it depends on your difficulty setting. On both DiRT2 and GRID you lose a flashback for each difficulty level you go up until you reach the highest difficulty with no flashbacks at all.

I don’t know whether it is the same in F1 2010 but it stands to reason that they would continue with the same system. I quite like having them for when I start a game as they are useful for getting up to speed and learning the handling and tracks and then once you feel comfortable with the game you don’t need them anymore.

  8. So the footage is still WIP? If it’s due for release in about a month, shouldn’t they be finished? Surely takes well over a month from the developers signing off on the game to it appearing in the shops. Or are they still showing old footage for some reason?

  9. I’m looking forward to seeing what the Korean track looks like – THE only place you can see it finished at the moment is the game!! :oD

  10. erm. Im not being funny but is their even damage in this? In all the videos ive seen from Codemasters theres been a video showcasing the excellent damage engine they have in Grid and Dirt(2). I wanna see what its like. EVen tho im 100% planning on getting the game anyway.

    • I believe there is mate, id be abit annoyed if there wasnt to be honest!

    • Yes there is damage, but you can change the amount of it in the settings. Maybe it is turned off in the gameplay videos we have seen. I would quite like to see what the damage is like though, and it is slightly suspicious that we havnt seen any.

    • Well maybe they just want to potray a “perfect look”??
I would have rather seen damage aswell, but maybe they thought people wanted to see cars in perfect condition.
