Chillingo has today announced that its hit title - Angry Birds – will be available as a PlayStation minis game later this year.

The premise behind Angry Birds is simple, but oh so addictive - players use catapults to fling birds across a level with the aim of eliminating thieving green pigs. Each bird has unique destructive powers capable of attacking the pigs’ fortified castles.

The PlayStation minis version of Angry Birds will feature:

  • Four Exciting Worlds with over 120 levels that require logic, skill and brute force to crush the enemy!
  • A Brand New World 4: “The Big Set Up”- Full of addictively fun surprises unseen before!
  • A Bonus Golden Egg World that clever players can unlock!
  • A New Big Brother Bird capable of massive destruction!

  1. I enjoyed the App verson, didn’t think it was amazing, but was quite good.
Does anyone know how the controls are gonna work? Im assuming it’s all going to be on left analogue stick.

    • Ooooh. I LOVE Angry Birds. Controls will be interesting – Im sniffing Move support maybe?

      • As a Mini? I’m not so sure

    • i assume so as when you think about the psp its the most obvious choice.

    • Left analogue stick would work well on ps3, not sure about the PSP ‘nub’ ‘though. Move control is probably out too if it’s a mini.
Not a huge fan but i appreciate the game is popular so it’ll be interesting to see how it translates.

  2. This will be price depending. Cant remember the app price and i haven’t got my ipod to hand no.

    • Just had a look and its 59p so the mini better be around that mark or it wont be having my purchase.

  3. Right up there as one of my favourite games of this year. Shame it’s a Mini it would have been lovely in 1080p like Peggle, Bejeweled and Critter crunch with Move support.

    • Agreed. Will leave the minis version alone but if they do a Flight Control version (eg. 1080p with Move support) they will have my money faster than a HandyJ from Superman.

    • Thats the only issue that i would have with it.

    • Critter Crunch with Move support? That sounds frantic! :)

  4. Yey ‘officially confirmed’

  5. To bad it’s a mini.

If they made this a PSN game with trophy and move suppor, i’d be all over it. I have no interest playing mini on my PS3, i don’t have a PSP (anymore) and i already have the game on my iPhone and iPad so it’s covered as far as having it on a portable device.

But again, as a PSN game with move support…day one purchase (assuming it’s priced resonable in comparison to the iPad version).

    • Agreed. Poor decision to make it a mini, never played one, don’t think i ever will.

  6. Got it on the touch and have to say it was one of the best 59ps I’ve ever spent. Really addicitive and massive just-one-more-go appeal and plenty of levels so great VFM too. Glad it should be appreciated by a wider audience.

  7. mini?! eeewwwwwwwwwwww

  8. But without touch ? :S
Don’t get me wrong though, it’s virtually bought already !

  9. Awesome! I loved this on the iPhone! I’d be interested to see how much they will charge though as it’s only 59p on iPhone!

  10. I’ll wait for it on Android , think its probably best suited to a more mobile format .
