inFAMOUS 2 Listed As Supporting Move

One of the key concerns when Move was first announced was that it would descend into party game and shovelware central.  Thankfully this doesn’t seem to be the case with games like SOCOM 4, MAG and Killzone 3 all looking tantalisingly good.

Judging by the Official US PlayStation site, the latest game to be recruited under Move’s banner is inFAMOUS 2 as it is listed between SOCOM 4 and Time Crisis.

Sony hasn’t officially announced this so we will be contacting them first thing Monday morning for comments.

  1. Even more of a reason to get Move =D

  2. Hmm… I can kinda see that working. The clip we ssaw with Cole creating a tornado was similar in many ways to what we saw in the Sorcery footage, with the wizard sending a whirlwind through fire to burn/kill enemies.

    • And that thing that he carries on his back could be used by flicking the Move controller where he wants to shoot it.

      • I have to admit, I’m wondering how ‘easy’ inFamous 2 will be, since you apparently start the game with all the powers Cole had at the end of the first title.

It makes perfect sense from a story perspective, since he wouldn’t just lose all those powers – but it could potentially make the game very easy, since Cole was a real badass at the end of the first game. No doubt they’ve balanced things, though. Can’t wait to find out!

      • They said that not all powers will be available from the start of the game.

      • And if they do, you will still need to upgrade them.

      • Surely that’s new powers though, it would be stupid to have to unlock all the old ones again. I think they have just ramped up the enemies, with the super-powered monsters and all.

  3. TSA clearly follow Kevin Butler on Twitter too :) I noticed this earlier this evening when I clicked on KB’s link about everything you wanted to know about Move…

I’ll be interested to know how it uses Move though. I saw a YouTube video of Killzone 3 Move support and was really impressed, they’ve avoided all the gimmicks (like a throwing motion to throw a grenade) and focused on gameplay. I’m really impressed with how small and accurate the motions are – a little flick to reload a small pull back to pickup a weapon etc it’s so subtle…

  4. wow.. it would be EPIC if inFAMOUS 2 would support move.

  5. The list of reasons for me to buy Move just keeps growing

  6. If they do this well, it could be a real jolt to the 3rd person genre (no pun intended).

    • There was clearly a pun intended :p

  7. This would be great if it happened, and if sucker punch manage to integrate move in a way that pushes away gimmicks and makes move compatibility a unique experience then that would just be great. I cannot wait to see how this unravels!!!!!!!!!! I think move may have just written itself onto my Christmas list…..

  8. I’m “shocked” by this announcement ;D

  9. DON;T 4GET ABOUT ruse I PLAYED THE DEMO AND NOW I HAVE 2 BUY IT. EVEN THOUGH ITS THE 1ST EVER STRATEGY GAME IVE PLAYED I LOVED IT

  10. I’d be very surprised if most(If not all) first party releases don’t have some form of Move support come next year. Seems the best way to boost the thing’s “hardcore” line up profile without having to release Move specific games.

The question of how Move compares to a regular controller for something like Infamous is another thing entirely. Would it really be worth the effort?

    • I would expect it to be used for aiming since the game plays like a third person shooter in a way. My other guess is them having some sort of first person lighting ball conjuring move, similar to what Anton did with his fireball demo. Other then that, they could allow you to have lighting strike down at specific areas or let you control lighting orbs with the move orbs. Who knows what crazy stuff they’ll come up with!
