Criterion are warming-up nicely for the November release of the stunning looking Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, with the release of another scrummy looking trailer.
Even though the gameplay looks exciting enough to make a Criterion fan like myself explode, that’s not the best thing about this trailer, as right at the end it’s revealed that a demo will be landing from October 26th. Just 32 days to go then.

Looks better every time I see it. Can’t wait to try the demo.

Tell me about it!
icuyesido
Can’t wait for this game, I hope F1 2010 keeps my anxiety down till then? =O
Ryan1991
Does look good. Bit annoyed that it’s not free roam though.
teflon
It is free roaming. But once you accept a race or challenge or whatever, then you’re funnelled down a specific route.
At least, that’s what I understand about it…
big-stench
i hope it is free roam so dissapointed if its not
cc_star
Its the best of both worlds
Its free roam so you can just drive around and enjoy the scenery and choose whatever event you want, and also open world is a great place to meet-up for multiplayer and just hang around, certainly better between friends than an in-game lobby, but the second you accept a challenge or enter an even, the circuit is closed to a route, except for shortcuts ;)

They learned from the Burnout Paradise complaints then!
cc_star
Absolutely, this best of both worlds approach is as a direct result of that.
At 200mph no one wants to spend more time looking at a mini-map than they do the road in front of them
Ryan1991
Ah I see. So it basically plays the same as the old Need For Speeds like Underground. Now I really want it.
gazo69
Finding out it’s open world and seeing the trailer has just gave me a stiffy for this game
MadJunkBoy
so the in game lobby is free roam??
GodDarnKat
Now the question is… Police or Baddies ?
Cop cars tend to have better coffee holders
and donut stand locations on the central GPS.
cc_star
Coffee holder in a Pagani Zonda intercepter unit?
3shirts
No, only on the Zonda S model
iBirch
Looking very good, can’t wait for the demo.
gazzagb
Awesome!
TSBonyman
This is looking like a great follow up to the PS2 version , can’t wait to play it.

I loved the old NFS Hot Pursuit and this looks just like it but up to date and developed by Criterion… perfect!
cc_star
Can’t think of anything better.
Although if someone was selling dogshit with a Criterion logo on I’d buy it. Day 1!
Rocket_345
Im printing off my Criterion logo off now. How much are you offering.
bunimomike
Did you hear that Zonda pull away? Pure sex!
Jas-n
What Zonda?
theshockwave
I couldn’t see/hear it either, but I didn’t want to say anything, in case I was wrong.
moshi
Me to, I dare not to cross Bunimomike
bunimomike
Oh, my apologies. The lovely cop car half way through. No? I opened the video in YouTube itself. Hope it was the same video. Lolcats, yes? :-p
bunimomike
Oh, it’s got McLaren on the back, I think. Oh, I don’t know. It sounded good. :-p
Jas-n
Yeah it’s McLaren’s new one, The MP2560 Sex Thrust, I think.
You also have mail ;).
hazelam
aerial support isn’t much use at an altitude of ten feet.
