Supermarkets love a big games release and it just so happens that this Friday sees one of the biggest of the year. Fifa 11 hits the shelves from midnight tonight and as in previous years the likes of Tesco, Asda, Morrison’s and Sainsbury’s have some decent offers available.

It’s not all as rosy as in previous years as some stores will require you to purchase either another game or a decent amount of food to get the cheaper price. We have a run down of the prices and offers below.

Asda

  • £29.97 or
  • £0.97 when your trade in Dead Rising 2, Halo Reach, F1 2010

Tesco

  • £25 when you buy any other top ten PS3/360 chart game

Morrison’s

  • £36.99 or
  • £27.99 when you buy any other PS3/360 chart game

Sainsbury’s

  • £24.97 when you spend £30 or more in-store or
  • £34.97

As you would expect there are a few terms and conditions you may need to check and trade-in deals won’t be available in every store.

    • Thinking exactly the same thing. If there’s no restriction on what you need to spend then Sainsburys is the way to go.

Of course, if there really is no restriction, pick up 2 copies of FIFA, the first one takes your spend over £30 then you may be able to get the second for £25. Bet they’re wise to this one though

      • Oh my, that’s genius. Probably wouldn’t be allowed to do that though!

      • What would you want with 2 copies of fifa?

      • Tony,

Trade-in while the price is high, get £30+ for it
Buy with a mate and avoid jumping through hoops to get a lower price
        Ebay
        Early xmas present for someone

No, I can’t think of any reason you’d want to buy 2 copies

      • Just photoshop the boxart of fifa 11 and place it in the Fifa 10 box which can be passed on to a friend, cousin or a idiot…and sell it for 30 quid.

(just remember to professionally wrap it up)

  2. F**k the supermarkets I’m buying at a games specialist (although I am undecided since I already have Fifa 10 and PES, Enslaved are next week)

If Fifa 10 is still in the charts then oh yeah!!

  3. ive decided not to get fifa11. i got 9 and 10 as they were cheap but i hardly play them and i get fed up of knobs disconnecting when i finally get to beat someone. bollocks to it, ill wait for fifa 12

    • Same here dude I still got 9 and 10 although 10 got the best marks (10/10) so clearly it is still the best game
As for 11 the trophies are still exactly the same so I am not getting that as I have pretty much palyed every stadium twice 09 and 10 and can’t be arse with 11 and play 500 matches etc…. it pointless 11 is 10 :P just a small difference lol.

      • you actually played the fifa 11 demo? its so much better than fifa 10… just because fifa 11 didnt get 10/10 doesn’t mean its not better than fifa 10…

      • Yes I did play the demo but I mentioned 11 trophies not the best 10/10 game it’s the trophies they are exactly the same.

      • Incidentally, FIFA 11 got 10/10 in this month’s OPM.

    • I will be sticking with Fifa 10 Ultimate Team, I expect Fifa 11 to at least have new game modes but it doesn’t making a £39.99 purchase pointless to me.

  4. Hah! Very cheeky from ASDA. Online they had a guarantee to refund the difference to any in store price drops they had… Come Friday and there’s no price drop, so they’ve got 1000s of online orders at a higher price point than their competitors…

    Very devious.

  5. Looks like the deals aren’t as good any more.

    • Probably because their plan last year was to lure people in with fifa and have them buy other stuff while there.

People went in to get fifa. People walked out with just fifa.

  6. It’s offers like this that always seem cheap but they really arent. Even though we do our shopping at Sainsburys you’re still spending like £55 when if you just want the game its only like £38 from Grainger and why oh why would I dream of trading Halo Reach or F1 2010!?
The Tesco and Morisons offers are weak too, buy two games instead of one… not cheap.
Will be picking it up from Blockbuster after getting rid of MW2 and RDR, free for me :)

  7. I preferred the Pes 11 demo this year . A long awaited return to form . Fifa11 is too similar to 10 . Not a bad thing but I’m not paying for glorified patch.

  8. Are people really complaining about being about to get FIFA 11 on release day for £25? I know you have to spend £30, but it’s a supermarket, everyone has to eat.

    • yeah, we don’t have supermarkets selling food AND games in aus… that’d be extremely convenient!

    • I don’t normally shop at any of those supermarkets as they’re all at least 10 miles away but it is certainly tempting.

I think they’ve finally realise that dropping their prices doesn’t help them that much as gamers are more than happy to go in and just buy the game (and then never go back there again).

I’ll probably just rent it from lovefilm.

      • Lovefilm just made my mind up as it now says Fifa 11 – Dispatching soon.

    • Couldn’t agree more, Davs. It’s an offer where you will genuinely benefit. All stores have “coupled” offers where one product is cheaper if you buy it’s counterpart, etc. Nothing new here.

  9. According to the Sun newspaper, ASDA are doing it for £25 when bought with any other top 10 ps3/360 game.

    • Forget that, it was TESCO. Too early in the morning for me.

  10. “When bought with another top 10 game”
These will be full RRP and they won’t be the actual top 10 but the supermarkets manipulated top 10, so you won’t always find the other game you think you’re going to get.
