Disney Cancel “Pirates Of The Caribbean” Game

Disney Interactive Studios have scrapped their upcoming game Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned with the cancellation leading to layoffs at Propaganda Games. It is believed that as many as 100 may have been let go while the remaining staff are now working on TRON: Evolution.

Disney Interactive Studios’ vice president of communication, Angela Emery, told Kotaku “Disney Interactive Studios confirms the cancellation of the Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned video game which was scheduled to be released in 2011. As a result of this decision, Disney Interactive Studios completed a restructuring of Propaganda Games, its Vancouver, BC internal studio, affecting one of the studio’s two development teams. The studio is still in active production of TRON: Evolution, the video game, which will be released on December 7, 2010 with additional DLC (downloadable content) support following the game’s release.”

  9. This was announced last week. I’d forgotten all about this, and when I looked at the screenshots, was reminded that I was rather intrigued by this when it was revealed. The visuals looked smart and the gameplay was being lauded as something special as well. Oh well. Nevermind. I’m sure that any code that’s been createdwill he used in some way shape or form.

  10. *says something piratey*
No but seriously, there are like no pirate games :(
