GT5 “In Stock” At US Retailer

It’s fair to say I’m more than a little bit excited about the prospect of Gran Turismo 5. In fact, I appear to be the only one on the team writing about it, which automatically means that I get to keep any nice promo goodies Sony send our way – I’m thinking a real life GTR would be appropriate, the 2011 edition please.

In the meantime, whilst we’re all waiting for a release date, one retailer in the US has the game in stock. Yep, that’s right, “in stock”.

I can’t vouch for Fingerhut, but a few Stateside forum posters have commented that the company is legit and they’ve even called them to confirm the stock levels.  Shipping dates vary from a day or two, to ten days, but apparently it’s there in their warehouse ready to go.

We have US regulars here on TSA, if anyone fancies calling them to double check let us know, it’s only the Collector’s Edition just now, and it’s at the slightly inflated price of $135.99, butif you’re as desperate as me to get your hands on Polyphony’s racing sim to end all other racing sims, this might be an interesting idea.

Once again though, we can’t personally verify or recommend this company, although The Examiner claims that they “gave them a call asking if this information was correct and they confirmed that they currently have the game in-stock and ready for order.”  So there you go.

  1. Woo and yey ! Can’t be long now…just need a UK stockist now !

  2. As soon as this comes into stock at work I’m going to buy it…even if only to rub it everyone else’s faces on my friends list :P

  3. Language, Timothy! Also: Fingerhut *snigger*

  4. The stock is a lie; if you order it, they’ll send you confirmation stating it’ll be dispatched on the 23rd.

Bit cheeky, if you ask me!

    • I’ve just realised, a dispatch on the 23rd, would mean the game should arrive on the 25th, which coincides with the madrid launch party, the logitech wheels in japan, and the sonystyle date of “on or around the 30th”.

  5. I seriously doubt this. I suspect some computer system had a date set and has triggered an in-stock message so now the staff are looking at the computer which says it in-stock so it is. IF you ask to double check, they look at the computer again.

  6. Doubt it probably a trap

  7. I just asked shopto as I have it on preorder with them and they believe december the 3rd will be the big day.

    • Yeah, I am hoping their date is right. I have a day off on hold until a release is announced!

      • Same here, I had it preordered with Shopto back in the days when we could use the TSA affiliate links to direct us to the store and earn TSA a handsome bonus of 2 pennies.

      • Have I missed a meeting? I was wondering where the TSA Store affiliate links went, I used to do my bit!

      • I had no idea that the links had disappeared until it was mentioned here! When did that happen??

    • I have the ‘TSA Store’ page in my favourites, the ShopTo link is still there.
Not sure how to get to it from the TSA home page as the main link (top left) has gone.

  8. Release date must be nearing now. And about time.

  9. Just seen something about redbull making a mock up model of the crazy car they have designed with Polyphony to be used in Madrid for the games launch party at the end of the month. I’ll see if I can find a link somewhere.

    • Cheers Crazyfrog. I’ve got some widget on my phone that updates me on gaming news, spotted it on there before I got to my work PC to commence work (read- pretend to do work and look on TSA as much as possible!)

    • Mind you they’re also offering a trip to the launch…on Oct 26th ! Although to be fair that might be next year…
