Dan thought SuperStars V8 Racing was great, concluding his review by saying that “after a good few hours with the game it will still be pulling you back in for another go, teasing you to master that tricky hairpin, or to find the perfect car set up.”
“Whilst many of you will be looking to Sony and a GT5 release date, I urge you to divert your eyes a little and give this a try,” he said. And it appears the publisher O-Games agrees, offering up Gran Turismo 5 as a prize for anyone downloading SuperStars V8 Racing.
“Critics say that Superstars V8 Racing is a worthy investment and does more than just fill the void for all the racing fans waiting for the launch of Grand [sic] Turismo 5,” said Greg Lanz of O-Games, Inc. “Beginning next week and for the next ten weeks, we’ll be challenging players of Superstars V8 Racing on PlayStation Network to various leaderboard competitions, and award winners a brand new copy of Gran Turismo 5.”
The competition starts this Friday, and you can get more information on the Facebook page here.
The press release couldn’t resist another dig at Sony’s silence, though. “Exactly when we can ship GT5 is anybody’s guess,” it says, “but rest assured, we will send out prizes whenever it hits retail shelves.”

I played this on XBL ages ago and it was indeed quite terrible.
With NFS:HP out a week tomorrow and the hope of GT5 before xmas theres no way I would put cash down for a game I know isn’t any good.

Nice marketing, forty quid’s worth of investment could get them a few extra sales.

They’re sure to sell a few extra copies on the back of this competition. I think I’ll hold out for NFS:HP, or just buy GT5 and wait a while longer.

Great idea. That only needs to convince 4 or 5 people to buy it and they are in the money.

Are the competitions just for the download version or is it open to those that bought the game on disc?

Great marketing stunt from them, no harm in some freindly poke in the ribs. Can we se the Signature edition of GT5 coming with a code for SuperStars V8 racing now?
