It might have been five years in the making, but Sony’s Gran Turismo 5 has managed to outsell everything else since its release on Wednesday, topping the all-format charts in the UK. Polyphony Digital’s racing sim has knocked the evergreen Call of Duty: Black Ops from the top spot, showing that, despite the delays and a few visual niggles, Gran Turismo 5 is a monster.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood sits in third place, down from second, whilst FIFA 11 and Just Dance 2 retain their fourth and five places respectively. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit drops from third to sixth, whilst RockStar’s zombie take on Red Dead Redemption is the highest new entry (pop pickers) at fourteen.
You can read our massive, labour of love-esque review of Gran Turismo 5 here, complete with exclusive, hand-taken photographs from within the game’s photomode system. You can also read the same review in Turkish if you know where to look, complete with cropped images and alternative watermarks and a complete lack of morality. That’s the magic of the internet.

Well we all know that GT5 has sold at least 500,000 copies otherwise the online servers wouldn’t have suffered if the maximum connections allowed were 500,000
