Speaking to AusGamers, Valve’s Doug Lombardi has reiterated that the esteemed studio are “not done with Gordon Freeman’s adventures.” Fans of Half-Life 2 have been left waiting for the next chapter of the bearded scientist’s struggle against the Combine, with 2007’s Episode II ending bleakly while also setting up The Freeman’s next – and final – challenge. Since then? Nada.
Valve do have a history of dropping bombshells at E3, however. Just recall last year’s Portal 2 media frenzy. Could we see the crowbar reappear on stage in a few months? Anything is possible.

Portal 2 will be episode 3. Remember the Aperture Science Borealis at the end of episode 2? I’m hoping the two games will cross over.
Yes I am aware this may be wishful thinking…

It might not be. I remember gabe newall saying in an interview once, that portal will tie in to the storyline of Half-life.

I really hope it is Episode 3/Half life 3 and not a Left for dead DLC pack annoucment. You cannot end a game like that and not follow up on it, plus i want to kill some combine. i think they will annouce it at E3 2045 as they run on Valve time which is completely different to our time.

It’s all coming back! Deus Ex and then Half Life 3 and i will be very happy. Proper games – not a whiff of Hake about them.
