PSN Store Update: 06/07/11

Today is the day that everyone gets their hands on the Uncharted 3 beta. We’ve given you our impressions and we’ve got some even more detailed examinations on the way but after today you’ll all be able to see for yourselves.

In addition to that big helping of Drake, there are a few full games going up in the shape of Spelunker HD, Alien Zombie Mega Death, G.R.A.W. 2 and Sega Rally Online Arcade.

Finally, in among the usual discounts, track packs and micro-transaction fodder – there is a trial and unlock for Eat Them!

Please try not to laugh at that ridiculous Red Faction: Armageddon price too hard, we don’t want to be responsible for your hernias.

  1. Sweet lilly pickle £57.99, so anyone buying it !

    • Would have done but got it yesterday for £22.99 how stupid am i should have waited for the store update lol.

  2. 3×3 NFL Arcade (was £6.29/€7.99 – now £4.39/€5.49) is worth getting for anyone who doesn’t have it. Great laugh in multiplayer.

    • It’s fantastic.
Especially local, although online is great, and you can bring local multiplayer games online too.
      Well worth it.

    • Yeah it’s awesome, good for a bit of a mess around with friends locally and online.

  3. it’s the publisher who sets that price, not sony.

    • Sure is, but it’s Sony’s store and Sony’s framework and Sony’s relationship with the publisher. I remember the work Mikeck saying he had to do to get deals off the publisher, this would come under that category.

      • Yes, it’s Sony’s store and Sony’s framework, but Sony still have to go by the publisher’s wishes. I remember the hubbub with the Dragon Age Awakening expansion price and how Mike and Ross kept asking EA to lower it, but wouldn’t. At the end of the day, this isn’t Sony’s fault, as much as people would like to blame them for it. THQ set the price, Sony can only recommend them to lower it.

      • As always, hopefully people will vote with their wallets and go elsewhere. That, in itself, will be a lesson to sorting out a digitally distributed version and that it should at least be mildly competitive so it makes some money back on the investment to have it on the PSN store in the first place.

  4. Looks like somebody hasn’t quite got the hang of competitive pricing.

Might pick up a few (other) things this week though, certainly wasn’t expecting Gex to pop up mind. I’m tempted.

  5. Jesus, CodeMasters would sell their soul – very dissappointed that there’s even more DLC…it’s one thing to leave some things out of the game to allow for DLC, but they’ve released loads – it would be an even better game if some of this stuff had been included. And they’ve taken down the GRID servers. And they constantly remind you about purchasing DLC in the main menu! Grr

    Rant over.

  6. Oh god…. Gex..

Yes it was going to be Red Faction and the silly price but why not go for something differrent?.. eh HAHA

  7. €70…Wow.

I realise it’s not Sony’s fault, publishers set price, but wow. That is just ridiculous. THQ are smoking the ganja methinks.

  8. heres ps+ update for 6/7/11.

  9. PS PLUS update info?

  10. With that ridiculous Red Faction price, even Ross McGrath at Sony sounds apologetic:
“Sadly no, the European RRP at retail is €69.99 although it can be found a lot cheaper than this from various vendors.”
