PS+ EU Resistance 3 Beta Date Confirmed

Jonesing for some online human vs. Chimera action? Well, if you happen to be part of the Golden Cross Club you won’t have to wait for long. Insomniac has today announced that the “first access” EU beta will be available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers as of August 10th. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect:

  • Two maps: Seaside of Glamorgan (Wales) and Trainyard in Bogota (Colombia.)
  • Two modes: Team Deathmatch and Chain Reaction.
  • Level Cap: 20, which will of course limit the range of weapons and abilities available.
  • Unlockable load-outs and skins will also be available, though we don’t know if any extras unlocked by playing Global Resistance will be compatible.
Insomniac commented that this is only the initial phase; leading up to the game’s launch in September the developer will be introducing a number of ways for other players to join, hopefully culminating with the launch of an open beta.

  1. Excuse my language but fuck yes, I live in the “Seaside of Glamorgan” as they put it. Nice somewhere so pointlessly minor is in a AAA video game :P Really looking forward to this now..

    • Grimsby featured heavily in the original which was definitely a strange choice. However, it does bring variety to the table and we like variety!

    • Completely agree with you. I was surprised but pleased to see Cheddar Gorge, Somerset in R1 seeing as I live close by.

      • Ha! Thats so cool. I say its kinda weired seen somewhere not really known that you live in a AAA title.

    • Great, I can shoot Welsh people!

    • Have you noticed any Chimera hanging about there lately?

On a different note, can someone tell me where the option is to add a picture to my account?

  2. Wow. Can. Not. Wait.

  3. On holiday until the 13th so i’ll download it then.

  4. So much for it coming out the “first week of August” :( Still, cannot wait to play it and I have Motorstorm:A to keep me busy until then

  5. Cool. Looking forward to this.
