Looks like earlier rumours of some downloadable content for Gran Turismo 5 might hold some weight.
Speaking on Twitter, Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi has said that updates to the game are “in preparation” with bug fixes arriving first, then feature updates. DLC, according to his message, will “probably follow”.
“We’ll make sure to live up to expectations,” said a (translated) follow up Tweet. “It’s quite an effort.”
“We have to do nothing but our best.”
His comments sit at complete odds with the way Microsoft and Turn 10 are pimping out Forza 4, which will no doubt run with a fairly regular DLC schedule and plenty more communication with customers.
The battle, as they say, is on.

Same here, but we’ll have to give PD time to settle into the new workplace, otherwise the DLC would have probs been released by now. I was surprised to see quite a bit of whinging in the comments to the news at GTP, they’ll never please some people no matter what they do lol…hmmm, reminds me of the PSN store!

Same here aswell. Read this yesterday or was it early hrs of this morning can’t recall, might have been the follow up tweet I read this morning. I’ve actually re-found my love for gt5 can’t believe I left it for shift 2. More dlc is always welcome. Seasonal events have really keep the game alive especially with the increased credits and xp one can earn from them.

Definitely agree concerning the Seasonal Events. You’ve just reminded me I need to finish off this latest set. Finding the right car for them has been quite tricky.

@Gideon1451…
Try a Mini Cooper S ’07 modded to the max, save the turbo = PP450.
The special events have really helped the longevity though.

Probably follow?
It’s either coming or it’s not. They know whether they are working on DLC or not. If they are just say so and if they are not then just say so too.

This is exactly why Japanese game development has become a joke. This is how they work all the time, they are deliberately vague and think they’re being clever. I am extremely disappointed by the support GT5 has had post launch, even factoring in the Japanese earthquake, it shouldn’t tale this long to bring out dlc or better updates to fix issues that are still present in the game.

I think some of the things patched have been quite welcomed.

Hope it’s true also & a patch for the handling of f1 cars would be well, a dream come true.

I’m Disapointed with the lack of DLC for GT5!

I wonder if they will go with a Spec II type update, similar to what they did with Prologue.

Hopefully those bug fixes will sort out the online connection issues. As for DLC some new tracks/cars would be great and it will be interesting to see if they can add in anything unexpected as well.

It was good to read that the online issues have been acknowledged, I think that they said “It’s messed up”, and that they are going to address them ;)

GT5 is the only game that I have connection problems with so I hope they get it sorted, then I’ll be able to join the TSA meets again.

I haven’t played GT5 for a while, do you still only buy standard modelled cars through that random generator shop? I’d pretty much prefer if they’d give us a proper shop to buy those as well, head tracking in every mode. I’d also love to see some standard cars turned into premium ones.

There’s another shop too now, Collector’s Dealership.

Great to see continued support/feature updates and that they are determined to have the main game running smoothly before charging people for add-ons. I haven’t played it for a while now as my attempts were gradually reducing me to tears..

Fanboy… I’m a ps3 man but even I can appreciate the forza series, and I’m almost starting to regard them higher than gran turismo unfortunately…

It doesn’t have a coast to coast mode… so both lack in that field.
