With the features on TSA, do you find that there’s something you really look forward to?

Yeah, the 100 games preview thing. That was a huge undertaking, and it was really interesting to see what TSA thought of the upcoming games. I also want to see TuffCub’s Massive Polls coming back. The Battlefield vs. Modern Warfare one, I don’t know how he got away with what he said in the article…

He has a unique charm, and gets away with murder. I’ve also enjoyed the Meet the Staff ones, like Jen, ignoring all the marriage proposals, which I thought were brilliant. I’m sure the Daily Mail just read the comments and shook their heads.

I quite enjoy whenever there’s an article about the Daily Mail, the picture of the old granny, looking shocked with her hands on her face. I find that hilarious. Recently, I’ve also quite enjoyed Dexter17’s weekend articles. They’ve always given food for thought, and been a nice addition. Kris and Peter’s Sunday Thoughts too.

I don’t know if people quite realise, as someone who has just started writing on games, it’s a massive undertaking to write about it weekly, or even bi-weekly. So big props to the guys at TSA that write these.

As well as having to write about a game that’s not so good, or a bit away from their comfort zone. Last year I was angling towards reviewing Wakeboard HD, and after an hour, I just couldn’t do it. These guys see it through all the way.

I’ve been lucky that all six games I’ve reviewed for MediaKick, I’ve enjoyed them all. So, I’ve had it lucky, and maybe Davs needs to give me a bit of a turkey. I’m due something a bit shit.

He’s probably got something lined up that’ll destroy your soul. Hannah Monterminator: Salvation Karaoke?

I’ve actually played Terminator: Salvation, and well… Not as bad as I thought it would be. My expectations were low, so I enjoyed it a bit more than I thought I would. It’s not amazing.

So, no redeeming features? Just completely forgettable?

Yeah that’s exactly it.

OK, so do you have any hopes and aspirations with gaming? You’ve just started writing, is it something you’d like to do more of?

Well I’m hopefully going to start a law degree in the autumn, so I see the games writing as a hobby. So nowhere near where Peter is, being really busy with it all. I like getting the odd game in, doing a review, writing a blog. I’m just enjoying what I’m doing at the moment. If I can keep it that way, that’s lovely for me, but can see myself doing it professionally. I’m just enjoying being over at MediaKick, because they’re all really nice.

I think people knee deep in the industry can get a bit cynical and end up a bit jaded. I hope you can keep it so you just continue to enjoy new games, and don’t see it too much as work. Obviously we’ve got a great final quarter to 2011 coming up, some monstrous titles coming, so what’s coming that’s making you slip off your seat with excitement?

At the moment Battlefield 3, though they’re only showing alpha stuff at the moment, so I’m not sure if it’ll actually come out this year. I can see it being delayed, but that’s my main focus. Then there’s Batman: Arkham City, which looks really, really good. I’ve also got a hankering for a bit of Deus Ex: Human Revolution as well. I’ll be looking forward to that.

There’s not a huge amount on my radar. Oh, how could I forget Uncharted 3, FIFA 12 and Journey?

What about Skyrim, or are you avoiding it to not lose yourself in it?

I am going to get completely lost in there! Disappointed I forgot it, as I loved Oblivion, but I’m definitely excited for Skyrim, and I’ll lose a lot of hours in there.

I like RPGs, particularly for the environment. With Oblivion I just spent days wandering around the wonderfully vast environments. One other game you’ve been talking about is Catherine, with a ‘C’? I know you liked the demo, but is that coming out this year?

Well it’s just been announced that they have an EU publisher for it, so hopefully well see that this year, because I really enjoyed the demo. I hope I can get my ‘Love is Over’ edition with the pizza box and the underwear.

OK, you’ll have to explain this for people who don’t understand. I’m slightly worried this even exists. The special edition, it comes with what?

It comes in a pizza box, which is the case for it, and then polka dotted underwear…

Right, stop. That’s it, it comes with ladies underwear?

No, no, it’s mens boxers!

Ah, that’s what I was thinking when you said a few days ago. I could just see you gaming with a pair of knickers on your head. So it’s the boxers that the main character wears?

Yeah, it’s a Japanese game, but I don’t think even they would be that creepy. Then it comes with the pillowcase, T-shirt and the soundtrack as well. I thought the soundtrack in the demo was really cool.

While were talking about pillowcases, we’ve got the Snog, Civil Partnership, Smother question, with ColossalBlue (Peter), Lewis Gaston and Halbpro (Kris) the hosts of the OMM podcast.

Funnily enough, after reading MadJunkBoy’s answer earlier on, I think I have it prepared. I’d have to marry Peter, because he’s a softie, and just really nice. Lewis seems like the quirky twin who’s into some weird stuff that might be fun, so he’d be the Snog. Then I’d just smother Kris.

Well, no, killing him’s a bit nasty, so I might fart on it and give him pink eye instead?

That might be seen as a sign of affection. I’m not sure how he’ll take that! I like how you decided to have the civil partnership with Peter. He’s so nice, and you kind of know he’d have the dinner on the table for when you get home.

Yeah exactly. You know, they’ve still not invited me to be on their podcast, so… I’m annoyed!
