The debut trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw is live. From the minds at Grasshopper Manufacture, the game sees you play as an ass-kicking cheerleader who (by the looks of things) has to chop her way through zombie high-school kids.
Sssh, no one tell the tabloids.

Hey Suda, how about next time you try pointing the camera somewhere other than up her skirt. Eight upskirt shots in a 1min 30 promo has to a record.

Let’s all hope it doesn’t sell and we can get back to enjoying quality games. Ugh.

How do you know it’s not a quality game? it looks better than most games (which were meant to be quality games) out at the moment, how about let’s hope it’s a great game and that it sells well extremely well so that more great games are made.
hoping for games to fail will inevitably kill the industry off apart from the yearly money spinning games-in-a-can such as COD and those sports games that just add new blade of grass textures and not to mention the numerous dancing/keep fit “games”…
let’s try that instead, ugh?

Yeah I apologise for my hasty, uncalled for response. It’s been a bad day. I’ve never got on with Suda games. They seem to carry some sort of (I believe unjustified) status as being fantastic games. In my opinion they have been, so far, very average. I genuinely think that Suda’s influence and desperation to imbue his games with a sense of “craziness” and humour is to the detriment of the gameplay.
Like I say though, my initial response was uncalled for. No one wants to see gaming trying something new to disappear in favour of yearly updates. However, I believe if new games are to succeed, they have to play better than average.

let’s face it, this could turn out to be utter pants (not cheerleader ones) but hoping for it to be was what annoyed me.
plus I don’t think I’ve even played a game by suda51 so can’t really comment on them, but this does look like it could be a lot of fun.
thanks for the reply, hope you have a better day tomorrow :)

Please can you explain to me what is good about them. I don’t understand this Hero Worship he seems to receive. Shadows Of The Damned was a very average third person shooter. No More Heroes was a below average third person brawler with some horrible camera decisions, and Killer7 was pretty boring. I’m not making a dig at you personally, but I just don’t understand where the love for the guy comes from.

To be honest I’d only know him for No More Heroes.

What do non-gamers think when they see this kind of trailer?
Anyway, regardless, it looks fun.

Apparently that’s Tara Strong’s voice in the trailer. I love her mainly because she played Keira in Jak and Daxter (well from Jak 3 onwards I think).

If you think about all the clichéd attempts to over-sexualise a female lead character and how they fail nearly each and every time this might actually work. My only concern is that it’s chainsaw, chainsaw, chainsaw…. all of the time. However, they’ve been splendidly shameless, made her look hot as hell and given her plenty of attitude too.
If there’s a game under that dangerously short skirt, it might turn out to be some fun after all.
