Go “Above And Beyond The Call” In Jay-Z BF3 Ad

Teased last week, the full version of EA’s Battlefield 3/Jay-Z “99 Problems” ad has finally gone live, featuring a high tempo mash-up of clips from DICE’s upcoming first person shooter. The tagline “Above and Beyond the Call,” makes its debut, taking at shot at BF3’s biggest contender for this year’s online FPS crown, Modern Warfare 3.

Battlefield 3 launches on October 28th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Those who pre-ordered via Origin or who picked up the Tier 1 edition of Medal of Honor will gain early access to the multiplayer beta which kicks off tomorrow.

  1. Sneaky dig at COD there, thought they were playing nice these days..

    • There have been so many digs, if they are confident with their own product, why all the hate?

      Like it or not, you can hardly mock CoD – what for, it’s success and huge sales?

      • Agreed. Why they feel he need to have digs is beyond me.

      • CoD could be terrible and would still outsell Battlefield 3 10:1
        I like to think the dig is intended for all of the teenagers out there who think that MW3 is the ONLY choice available to them. It’s not a dig it’s an offer to try something different

  2. Didn’t like this trailer. Poor choice of music, in my opinion.

    • I find that’s been happening a lot these days, so many times I have watched a trailer and really not understood the choice behind the music (Crysis 2, Black Ops & Dead Space 2 spring to mind). I try to phase it out and focus on what is most important, the footage.

      • And the Gears 3 one was weird (in my opinion). It’s like they tried to replicate the original Devotchka track, and failed.

      • Also, it’s weird they dig at CoD then go and use a Jay-Z track, when Kanye West who is on his label, performed at the CoD Exp event in LA. Contradiction?

      • Uncharted 3 multi-player trailer had quite a good choice.

      • Tinie Tempah’s Pass Out for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood was the worst in recent memory.

    • Totally agree. Why pick some rinsed Jay Z bollocks from 2004?

    • Yup, poor choice of music there. I like Jay-Z, but it just didn’t fit.
