Replay Games has announced it obtained the rights to the Leisure Suit Larry franchise. Not stopping there the developer has also outlined plans to re-release the original series, and to also commence work on all new adventures for the adult game star.
In a move that should please fans of Larry’s escapades, series creator Al Lowe has also been drafted in to work on the high definition upgrades.
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards will be the first in the series to get the HD makeover treatment and should hit Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, PC download services and mobile platforms in Q4 2012.
2012 marks the series’ 25th anniversary, anyone planning to join the party?

I have heard that Leisure Suit Larry was a pile of dung. I mean, i’ve yet to hear one postive thing about it. So i can’t imagine that the HD remake will be successful. In fact, what is the game about? O-o

Leisure Suit Larry was originally quite a good Sierra adventure game with good humour and writing, as well having Sierra logic. It’s just that later sequels (the second and third games were still good) and the recent remakes were just awful.
Still not a patch on Space Quest for me, though.

Always loved the larry games, although the best 1’s were the remake of the 1st one, and the 5th was pretty cool but the 6th larry game was by far the best in my view, 2 and 3 didnt do much for me

All for the remake of a few of the very old LSLs but not so keen on new ones.
LSL Box Office Bust and LSL Magna Cum Laude were complete cow dung. This is a game that should only ever be in 2D.

Man i’m getting old… I have played all Larry games, not that i liked them, but that was the kind of game we had a couple of decades ago. Don´t know if i´ll play Larry HDe, butat least it brought some good old memories.
