Assassin’s Creed Heading To Egypt?

CVG are reporting that the latest issue of stablemate ‘PSM3’ magazine is carrying a rumour that next years Assassin’s Creed will take place in Egypt.

The magazine states the game may be heading for the land of Pyramids and Pharaohs for ‘at least part of the game.’

So a game about historical cultures and religious conspiracies might go to a country rich in ancient culture and religious symbology. Who’d have thought it?

Egypt seems like a perfect setting but given that it’s perhaps a little short on tall landmarks, excluding the obvious, perhaps not.

  3. This would set it years before the first and second AC’s. Doesn’t make sense to me.

    • only if it’s set in Ancient Egypt. It could be modern day Egypt for all we know.

      • Maybe…… Would be amazing to see the place you’ve been exploring burn to the ground, aswell as how it could tie into the story.

      • I agree, although the game world could get a bit boring if half of it is burned to the ground… I have always thought egypt would be great, or vikings, snow, big melee weapons and beards.

      • Well if you imagine if the fire was the half way point in the game and then it jumped forward several years as it has done before showing london rebuilt but with several new churches. (I think you get where im going with that!)

    • Completely in agreement. Haven’t bothered to pick up Revelations yet as I can’t justify the cost when it still seems a bit samey.

      Japan would fix heaps of that though, such a naturally beautiful country combined with castles different to any shown in AC and also many temples from a very spiritually aware culture.

  5. victorian era london would be amazing.
    all the architecture to climb, big ben, yeah, i know that’s the name of the bell not the tower.
    st pauls, tower bridge.
    and i could see something secret at the top of nelson’s column.
    imagine seeing tower bridge in various stages of construction, culminating in a climactic fight with the main villain atop the finished bridge.

      • Seconded. Although I think the Sherlock Holmes movie already had that ending. Would be awesome though.

  6. I’d love to see a game take on Egyptian mythology. It would be a great setting for a God of War reboot.

    • Yeah I think God of War would fit Egypt well.

      If they do an AC game there they should get Wilbur Smith to write it, his Egyptian series (the Taita ones) are very good, and have plenty of action in. I think they would fit an AC game very well.

  7. Is it wrong that I just got a mental picture of the old ps1 Disney Aladdin game, running over the tops of the market stalls and such? Not precisely Egypt, but that’s what I’m imagining. Slightly better graphics though, I would hope…
