The weekly PSN Store update is right here, right now, and right in your face. Hitting you hardest between the eyeballs is the FULL GAME (no less) for an old Splinter Cell game – you lucky, lucky people.
Also there – the even older PSOne game Arc the Lad.
There’s the rather more interesting demo of the wickedly titled Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for PS3 fans, and some juicy PlayStation Plus bargains including 30% off Stranger’s Wrath, which Dan thought was pretty good.
Oh, and the Starhawk Beta for Plussers. Nom.
There’s also a little FAQ bit at the bottom of the post over on the EU Blog, probably to try to stem the abuse. Jurassic Park codes are in progress, Warhammer DLC is on the way and there’s no date for the PS2 classics yet.

£8 for GT5 DLC. Will be buying regardless, lol.
teflon
Everyone round Tony’s lounge to try out the Test Track!
tonyyeb
You mean you won’t be buying the lot?!
tonyyeb
That is if it is a track you can use online?
Tomhlord
I’m buying all of it when I’m back from work, the Jag & Aston should be fun!
tonyyeb
And it was fun! GT5 rocks! Not sure how many other year+ old games people still play as often as we do with GT5? And before Tom says it, yes I still play Pro Evo 2011!
freezebug2
*Cough* Burnout Paradise-January 2008, I still like boot the game up now and then, and so do quite a few randoms. :P
colmshan1990
Wipeout HD, Bioshock, COD4, Oblivion…
teflon
Glad I didn’t get Stranger’s Wrath a couple weeks ago, now. I know it’s mean, but this way I can get both it and the new GT5 cars. Boom.
Oh, and ouch on the UC3 pricing. £6.50?! That’s too much.
Jacko
The Uncharted 3 DLC is supposed to be half-price for this first one only.
I think they’ve put the wrong price up.
TSBonyman
Still no Trine 2 but i’m enjoying replaying Trine in anticipation.
JoshHood
The Store official blog posts are becoming a fucking joke. Errors, typos, spelling mistakes – it’s mental to think people actually get paid to write them over there. The sale post is just as bad – prices only in Euros, half the names spelt wrong.

Ha, yeah I noticed that last week.
I’m off to the Blog now. Reading the spoilt brat rants in the comments is the best thing about store updates IMO :D
Smallville2106
Nothing for me this week.
Forrest_01
Whilst not usually one to complain about the content of store updates, this one is pretty poor to say the least.
Usually i am of the impression of there usually being something someone will enjoy, but i am finding it hard to work out what that might be this time! Well, unless you are a plusser & are into discounts of course.
I can quite readily say that there is nothing there of interest to me & anything that might have been is too overpriced.
Youles
I guess Sony think DLC for big games like GT5 and Uncharted 3 is pretty good (although I won’t buy the Uncharted ones since they are old maps). And I guess the Starhawk for quite a few people (although not for me).
I shall pick up Arc the Lad, GT5 DLC, LBP2 DLC, FFXIII-2 trailer, and will probably get Bomberman Ultra! :)
Youles
* and Saints Row The Third was a big release (although again, not for me and I have no idea what the DLC includes).
Forrest_01
Ok, just to explain what i meant;
GT5 stuff might be good, might not – No idea as i don’t have the game (can’t deal with driving sims, too much fannying about). Didn’t sound like a lot of content to me though.
UC3 maps are totally overpriced IMO. Not started UC3 yet & might have picked up additional maps if they were priced decently. But they aren’t.
LBP2 stuff is a free costume – Nothing to get excited over IMO & a lot of the costumes have been released before (although i don’t think that is the case with this one).
SR3 is a free homie who has no particular qualities to speak of (& standard homies are mostly of no use anyway i have found) & a Genki add on, which i presume relates to some kind of arena based combat missions, similar to Genkis Super Ethical Reality Climax side missions. If that is the case, i personally don’t think it’s worth the price.
As for Bomberman, you cheated! That isn’t in this update! :P
Perhaps i did react a little more harshly than i would usually, but i was actually expecting more this week, as stuff has effectively gone missing from the lineup in previous weeks (& i got PSN credit for xmas, so it might have been nice for something decent to pop on!).
Youles
I’m of a similar opinion – there isn’t that much for me personally, but there are a few little bits for some big games. And I think Starhawk is pretty big for a lot of people (although I played the previous one and thought it was very average). I’m always happy when there isn’t much, so I can save my cash! :)
Guilty. But that’s why I’ll get Bomberman, since there isn’t much else. As I’m PS+ everything I listed is free, excluding GT5 DLC. Although the Uncharted maps seem pricey, I won’t get them purely as they’re old maps, rehashed.
If you have spare PSN credit, buy Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, that would be my recommendation.
BTW – I wasn’t being sarcastic in my very first sentance, it was just poorly written! ;)
Forrest_01
S’alright, think I’m just in a bad mood!!
First day back at work after being poorly for a couple of days & I get some pretty shocking updates on my job (although I could be overreacting!) & was hoping for some good stuff on the update today, as I could actually get on for once as me & the wife had date night last night.
But alas – Twas not to be! :)
Youles
No worries. Hope the work news isn’t so bad.
Maybe you could start Uncharted 3 with date night “out the way”…the first few levels are pretty enjoyable! ;)
Forrest_01
Meh – Need to finish UC2 first! :S
I’m sure i’ll find something to entertain me though. :)
MICKY17
Guess the Starhawk beta for many people today then? See you all in space :)
tactical20
Nuffings.
Which is good because I’m spending all my money on vinyl at the moment.
DirtyHabit
Did I read somewhere Oddworld is 3D compatible? I hope not I’m pretty broke just now….
hazelam
i’ll believe Arc the Lad when i’m playing it.
35 pages, and still nothing.
