9Our review of Uncharted: Golden Abyss was overwhelmingly positive – it’s a great game, and, as Dan said, ” is a proper, 10 hour+ Uncharted adventure with very little in the way of compromise.”
It doesn’t have multiplayer though. Not yet.
But that looks likely to change, as Destructoid say in their article today on the subject. “When I asked one of the developers regarding multiplayer for Uncharted, he said that we should expect ‘something different’, and that an official announcement will be coming soon.”
What that difference might be is anyone’s guess – hopefully Bend won’t be doing a ModNation Racers on this but chances are this might not be a full online megathon like the PS3 Uncharted games.
Hopefully we’ll find out soon.

Love UC’s competitive multiplayer. Hopefully by different they just mean “on a smaller scale.”

I’m betting they’ll be focussing on asynchronous play, just like the rest.
I hope, though, that they’ve been slaving away with further optimisations to the game, in order to save power so that staying online and playing the game at the same time is then possible.

i really hope the online for VITA does eventually match the ps3′s all of this ad hoc stuff just isnt the same.

Hopefully it is co-op, would rather having this game unlocked content for Uncharted 3.

See, this was another vita title that I’d heard was multiplayer AND cross-play with PS3 the same as Modnation was touted to be. By the way, both of these things were in the Playstation 2012 catalogue from Sony… ;(

Straight from the announcement, Golden Abyss was labelled as single-player on the Playstation website.
I remember linking to it in the forums months ago, back in June, only a couple of weeks after E3: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/forum/gaming-banter/what-are-you-most-looking-forward-to-regarding-ps-vita/page-2/
While there were rumours of multiplayer, there was never any mention of cross play for Uncharted.
And the only announcement about Modnation was the sharing of user content, which is more than the Little Big Planet announcement had (costumes).
