Kickstarter Project For Carmageddon Reboot

Kick start that engine.

One of the more risqué gaming franchises to come out of the 1990’s was gory car combat series Carmageddon.

The game’s original developer, Stainless Games, has announced that planned series reboot Carmageddon Reincarnation will come to life through fundraising platform, Kickstarter.

Stainless’ target is $400,000 to release the game and at the time of writing that total sits at $41,417. If you pledge at least $15 that will entitle you to a copy of the game on release, plus an exclusive wallpaper and your name in the credits.

Reincarnation is planned for a February 2013 release on Steam. Check out the Kickstarter pitch below.

$15 is reasonable but it’s likely to be cheaper than that with PS+. Let’s face it, it’s a PSN title really.

But the point is that if it’s not backed, it might not even get made.
I’ve thrown my hat into the ring as I loved the original game on PC. Granted, it will never live up to that first experience but it’s a fairly small price to try.

True but it seems a bit pushy to say they are releasing a game only to say a few months later, if you pay us first. And it seems a bit dishonest.

Funny video. I played the original – but on a computer that was barely capable – so i don’t have great memories of it but it might be a bit of fun.

    Exclusive wallpaper? Count me in!

Seriously though, I loved the first 2 games (2 in particular) so I’m very tempted to do this.
