Fansite ‘Battlefieldo’ is reporting ‘some exclusive (unofficial, but from a very reliable source) news’ that something called ‘Battlefield Premium’ will launch on June 4th. Conveniently, that’s the day of the EA E3 conference.
“Battlefield Premium will land you a number of content drops with unique in-game items not available anywhere else. First out is the one-of-a-kind Premium knife and black dog tag, plus a set of soldier camos, weapon camos, dog tags and Assignments that will make sure you stand out and get more personalization options,” they say.
Is Battlefield Premium EA’s response to Call Of Duty Elite? Guess we’ll find out at E3.

The only way I would even consider buying this is if it included the already announced map pack DLC and at a discounted price. Basically like a Season Pass. Those are the reasons I got the Gears 3 and Forza 4 ones.

yep i love the game but just cant make the time to play hour long rounds now with 1000’s of tickets..shame but the game is dead to me now.

Personally I don’t seem the problem with removing the official servers. There is a search function, you just have to know what to search for. I like my games slightly longer than the norm so I search for ‘200’ or ‘200%’ and always find a server with the maps I want within the first page.
The only time I see it being a problem is when the game starts to fade, and in reality that’s only really going to happen when the next BF installment in the main series is released.
I understand it can be annyoing with ban/kicking/swapping admins but for what I’ve played recently and the amount it’s happened to myself it’s nothing to put me off the game.

Clearly you don’t understand. There are like 3 official servers, I don’t want to play on some custom server where the admin will kick me or have rules banning guns or Jets or play one map constantly with 2000 tickets. I didn’t pay to search for 3 hours before I can play on a official server.

as he said there’s a search bar, it doesn’t take any more the a couple of minutes to find one that has the correct length and rules. if admin are kicking you your probably being a dick, very very few will kick people just for killing them, if they did that the server would be empty.

First the servers disappear, then the premium service is announced, followed by the undoubted inclusion of more dedicated servers for premium customers. What’s worse is that people will pay for it. It’s the all new online pass for all, regardless of if you buy new or second hand.

this in the same week as Starhawk goes on sale with all DLC maps free for ever! I always wanted to love BF3 but in never really stole my heart. It’s just been moved from the pile by the TV to the dreaded pile in the cupboard (next to Red Dead Redemption)
