PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Might Be Heading To PS Vita

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale – it’s a name that’s too big to fit on a 40″ TV, let alone a Vita’s 5″ OLED, right? I’m being silly, but we all know the gameplay would work just fine.

Well, as picked out from an interview with Digital Trends, a port of the game for the new portable might just be on the cards, even if it’s still apparently a bit of a secret.

“Any chance that we might see this on Vita?” was the question asked. The answer, a “maybe”, might be far from official confirmation but it’s infinitely better than a “no”.

Expect more on the PS3 version at E3, too. “We’re going to be announcing characters and environments and all that from now until the game comes out,” said the developers. “I think E3 will be really informative for people with questions about our roster.”

  1. Almost certainly will happen. Maybe not by the original developer but it’ll happen eventually.

    • Let’s just hope they don’t do a Modnation racers psp and rush the game to get it out in time…

  2. If they do it, its got to be cross game play! would be awesome

  3. who cares it wont help vita sell

  4. sony hasnt learned anything from the psp

    new games sell, ports dont

    • Here’s a list of PSP games which have sold more than 1 million copies, from Wikipedia:

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (4.12 million)
      Gran Turismo (3.61 million)
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (3.5 million)
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2,725,507)
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (2.59 million)
      Daxter (2.3 million)
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (2.3 million)
      Dissidia: Final Fantasy (1.81 million)
Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0 (1.32 million)
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (1.3 million)
      Monster Hunter Freedom (1.2 million)
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (1.13 million)
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee (1 million)
      Tekken: Dark Resurrection (1 million)
      Wipeout Pure (1 million)

How many of those were not either a port or a stripped down version of a home console game? People want games, it doesn’t matter whether the game is a port or not- in fact, unless they already own the game on a home console, it wouldn’t make a difference.

      • agree with colmshan1990 it does not matter.

  5. This is one of the few game I’d probably buy on PS3 rather than Vita if everything about the two versions was the same.
    Why?
    Local multiplayer.

    • What about a Vita AND PS3 version for 40%/50% more than the console version? Hopefully would be physical on Vita, rather than digital.

      • That kind of double pack, would interest me.
Crossplay would lead to me buying PS3 version first and Vita later if the game proves as good as it looks.

  6. Hopefully.
