Take Two has confirmed that the XCOM shooter being made by 2K Marin will be delayed. The game was originally pencilled in for a release in March 2012 but that was obviously pushed back and it has now been confirmed that the game won’t come out until the fiscal year ending on March 31st 2014. That’s potentially a full two years after its first projected release date.
On the bright side, the strategy game being made by Firaxis has been locked in for an October release this year. Many people were quite critical of XCOM’s move into the FPS genre, just as hopeful about its return as a strategy game and concerned about the brand confusion of having them both around at the same time. This release schedule seems to assuage all of those fears in one handy business decision.

Supposedly been in dev since 2003 too o_O
Anyway, it’s all about Xcom: Enemy Unknown for me this year, super-hyped for it & genuinely the only thing left for me on PS3 this year other than the normal footie & FPS purchase in October.

With that time it’ll might end up being worth a look hopefully it does things that set it apart from the other FPS’s released. 2K always seem to have a few nice shooters out there. So far Looking forward to the other XCOM, hope its great on a gamepad or even PS3 like RTS’s work or whatever Civilization was, then Red Alert 3 proved that too.
