Gaikai’s E3 Invite All But Confirms PS3 Streaming Partnership

According to GameBlog, Gaikai has been sending out press invites to an E3 event that all but confirms a streaming partnership with a console manufacturer.

“Gaikai has major announcements for E3,” says a translation of the page, “which has the potential to change the future of video game, the game consoles and the way in which we play.”

Yesterday we ran an article speculating that Sony were planning to introduce streaming for – possibly – games or movies, and the above invite and text certainly seems to connect with that.

  1. I have a 50MB connection which is meant to be upgrading to 110MB at some point soon apparently, so I don’t think my connection would be a problem if this is what’s going to happen. And I’m already a PS+ subscriber so if it integrated I wouldn’t mind so long as it doesn’t get more expensive, but with that article about a tiered system that could possibly happen.

I haven’t tried either OnLive or Gaikai so can’t comment on the experience of streamed gaming, but something makes me feel I like a piece of hardware and actually owning what I’m buying.

  2. Additional yes, all encompassing no.
