Square’s love affair with Hong Kong cinema returns to the top spot this week, despite a significant drop in sales of 42 per cent. It beats out EA’s Sims standalone expansion, Supernatural. That expansion is the only new release to make an appearance and, with Guild Wars 2 slipping to sixth, everything else in the top five is in the same position as last week.
Madden is selling well for a niche sports game (in the UK, at least) and holding on well at number seven. That’s ahead of the resurgent GotY edition of Dead Island and Activision’s evergreen Modern Warfare 3.
Here’s the top 20:
- SLEEPING DOGS – SQUARE ENIX EUROPE
- THE SIMS 3: SUPERNATURAL – ELECTRONIC ARTS
- NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. 2 – NINTENDO
- LONDON 2012: THE OFFICIAL VIDEO GAME – SEGA
- LEGO BATMAN 2: DC SUPER HEROES – WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE
- GUILD WARS 2 – NCSOFT EUROPE
- MADDEN NFL 13 – ELECTRONIC ARTS
- DEAD ISLAND GOTY EDITION – KOCH MEDIA
- DARKSIDERS II – THQ
- CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 3 – ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
- MARIO & SONIC LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES – SEGA
- LEGO HARRY POTTER: YEARS 5-7 – WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE
- TOM CLANCY’S GHOST RECON: FUTURE SOLDIER – UBISOFT
- TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON – ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
- THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN – ACTIVISION BLIZZARD
- BATTLEFIELD 3 – ELECTRONIC ARTS
- SNIPER ELITE V2 – 505 GAMES / MASTERTRONIC
- FIFA 12 – ELECTRONIC ARTS
- BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY – WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE
