Criterion: “We Will Make Another Burnout Game”

It’s the news everyone has been waiting for, “We will make another Burnout game at some point,” confirms Criterion’s Craig Sullivan. This could mean Burnout Paradise 2 (yay!) or Burnout Crash 2 (whatevs). The team are concentrating on Need For Speed: Most Wanted at the moment but Craig revealed to the Guardian that the future is undecided.

“When we did Burnout Paradise we did some motorbike DLC and now everyone thinks that we’re going to do Road Rash at some point,” says Sullivan. “I had a lot of fun playing that game, we think bikes are fun. We might make a Road Rash game…”

“But then we might make a game without vehicles in it. I mean, we made Black, I was the lead designer – we might make a game about blowing the crap out of each other!”

No. Make Road Rash.

  3. You know what, Criterion? Make another Burnout, make Road Rash AND make a game without vehicles in it. They’ll all sell like hot cakes.

    • Preferably do it in that order rather than all at once though. ;)

  4. Criterion, please please please make a Burnout 2. I’ve been a Burnout fan from the very start, and bought all the DLC that was released along the way. Every racing game I’ve played since hasn’t impressed and all have fallen short in originality, community and continued playability.
    It has to be open world, NFS HP was nearly there but let down on Handling (the response was like sailing a tanker in readybreak), and not being able to properly explore the world which was created. Even NFS MW handling seems the same (played demo at EGX).
    Also pre release DLC should be free and included in the released game, and post DLC should only be released months after the the game release, if it’s not finished don’t release it, and stop taking more money from us £45 is enough in one go. Sorry for the rant, but it does anoy me.
    It would be nice if game devs read posts on game sites like this, as most people on these sites have ideas and opinions on how games should be developed, even if we are wrong, criticism is constructive. So Criterion please make Burnout 2…………
