If this isn’t teasing the PS4, it’s one hell of a cheeky troll from Sony. That said, it’s pretty likely that the February PlayStation Meeting will indeed be focused on next generation.
The event will be held in New York in approximately three weeks, and whilst the video below gives little away, there’s enough chatter on Twitter from the likes of Geoff Keighley to suggest Sony are about to kick things up a gear.
So, is this the first we’ll see of the PS4 or is this just another teaser of a teaser that’ll end up going nowhere? It’s easy to be sceptical, but it’s also easy to think – yes, this is it.
It’s also worth pointing out that this is a proper PlayStation Meeting. The last time we had one of those the Vita popped out. The time before that? The PlayStation 3. I reckon this is pretty much a lock for PS4, and we’re going to see it very soon indeed.

Be nice for it to be announced so all the speculation can stop. Well most of it anyway.

Tough not be excited but I still feel like PS3 is so strong that next gen is not yet needed.

Ohh, god. I hope it’s the PS4 reveal. So excited. I haven’t felt like this since first hearing of the PS3. The 20th can’t come fast enough.

Yep I’m liking the idea that this is news regarding the whole PS….hopefully they will tell us that they are going to have download and streaming games. Hopefully all games can be streamed to play on a Vita. I would like to see a strong bond between the new console and the Vita.
I would like to see the console be able to stream to the Vita
I would like to see the Vita be able to download extra code to be used within games in a similar way to the WiiU, but be optional, so that the games work on their own, but companies can give some extra control options if it enhances the game. Hopefully done as Vita download code DLC, it would be financially viable, presuming the game was any good itself lol.
Some mat say that this would take away from the Vita software sales, and to some degree it would. At the same time though, it could help hardware sales…leading to an improved user base….leading to better and more profitable games made specifically for the Vita. I do understand that the profitability of ports may be affected though….
I also am hoping for a reasonable price level that does not reduce the uptake quite as much as with the PS3…Yes this means less power, but it is likely that PC tech will overtake any console advantages pretty quickly. Those that can afford to buy and update PC’s will always do that, and probably have many consoles too. Consoles seem best served with a lower priced start to gain maximum momentum in user base and hence software sales….leading to more games. I hope Sony can find the Sweet Spot of power Vs cost. Best of luck to Sony….I am hoping that we have some good healthy competition for Nintendo and MS so that the competing systems are pushed to the limits and we the customer get lots of stunning games to play….

Going again’st the grain here:
I personally hope it’s a PS Vita:Slim’n’Lite-cheaper model, few improvements to things like battery life etc and to be bundled with Killzone Merc+Memory card.
Vita really needs a shot in the arm at the moment and i’d rather see it get another big push, with PS4 being mentioned in the press conference, rather than Sony go all out hyping up the PS4 (more concept footage, talk of teraflop performance etc).
PS3 has enough strong games coming out for it still to carry it’s momentum, i’d like the PS4 showing to arrive later in the year and be based firmly in reality, in terms of what it can auctually deliver games wise rather than watching a bath full of ducks or demo.of Gran Turismo that has no A.I routines etc to worry about.
The PS4 speculation starting to sound as daft as the world ending in 2012 was towards the end and here we are still. :-)
