We had a technical problem with this week’s podcast. Well, not so much a technical problem as a “Kev got too excited about something, played it on his PC while recording and the whole lot crashed” problem. So sound quality this week has unfortunately suffered as we had to use the collected Skype recording.
We talk about the info, published in a German magazine and later refuted, concerning some of the features in The Last of Us. Then we discuss what Disney is doing with Star Wars and what Warner might be doing with the DC Universe’s movies.
I talk about SimCity, its problems and its triumphs, before Kev tells us a bit about Ridiculous Fishing. Lewis watched a film called Innocence and Kris has been reading the Age of Ultron. Then Kev told us about a Superman animated movie he watched on Netflix and Lewis dropped knowledge of a bizarre indie game called Innawoods.
Obviously, we had our usual quiz and listener questions which resulted in the usual unprofessional hilarity that we know you all enjoy much more than our actual thoughts about games and movies and comics.

i kinda thought all those guys in the Iron Man 3 trailer were about to receive the Extremis, in whatever form it takes in the movie.
if Tony has the Extremis as well, he could be controlling the suits himself, i’m sure that’s one of the abilities he gained from the Extremis treatment in the comic.
also, with the hulkbuster armour, they’ve got to have him actually fight the Hulk at some point in one of the future movies.
i just can’t see how Nolans Batman and Superman can coexist in one universe.
if they did try to tie the two movies together, well somebody pointed out one problem, where was Superman when gotham was being held hostage by Bane for weeks or months, i don’t think they ever really clarified the timescale.
Bale as Batman would be cool though.
i don’t want just a Superman Batman movie, i want Justice League, with Wonder Woman.
i read something about where somebody discovered there was a code that tells the game to close if you’re offline for 20 minutes, and apparently a simple change, and you can play offline permanently.
speaking of comics.
did any of you guys manage to get any of the 700 free Marvel comics from Comixology last week?
they did this special promotion where they gave away loads of issue 1s of loads of Marvel books.
only they didn’t quite anticipate the level of demand and the servers basically melted.
they had to suspend the offer until further notice, i don’t think they’ve said when they’ll be bringing it back yet.
i think i managed to get them all, i had the page with the free books open on my ipodwhen the servers were having problems, and managed the get them all even after they said they’d suspended the offer.
so i was lucky there. ^_^
i’m waiting for when they get the app on the uk kindle store, there’s some problem with currency exchange or something, preventing the release at the moment. :(

i would have entered the competition last week, but i’ve already got Star Trek on Bluray.
that was why Heavy Rain got closest to making the QTEs work, because they’re not just, get it right or start again type things, they carry on and the outcome changes depending on how you respond to them.
but given the option, i’d rather not have them.
one blight on the otherwise brilliant Just Cause 2, is having that stupid little QTE every time you try to hijack a vehicle from the miltary.

Why does always Peter always make reviews/previews of games he doesn’t like as a genre xD ? I think the same thing was with MGR and now he talks about Monster Hunter, while he sound like someone who is not into jRPG stuff :P

It’s probably a time issue for some of the review staff as well as them feeling that they can’t give a neutral review due to their own personal view on a genre. Or they know that Peter hates reviewing some genres and leave it to him just to wind him up. ;)

I used to love JRPGs but don’t really have time for them now. Final Fantasy VI is my favourite Final Fantasy, for example. And I loved Persona. Just never got into Monster Hunter.
I just talk about what I’ve had to play that week, often I’m the only one who’s played anything at all, and sometimes it’s stuff that isn’t my favourite. I try to be fair and point out that that’s probably why I’m not keen though.
For example, this week, I’d have loved to talk about Tomb Raider but it was already covered in previous weeks.

Mine is FF VIII to be honest and I also liked the Persona games (played 3 and 4), what reminds me that I have not finished 4. Will need to play it to the end after I finish Bioshock.
It’s kind of sad that you are really the only one who played anything lately. “Shame on the rest of TSA crew” – I would say.
Personally I wouldn’t mind hearing about a game again if it would add something new or a new point of view to some stuff about it, in comparison to what was said on previous podcasts.
