Well, we made it to 100 numbered episodes of the podcast. It took us a little over two years with the odd week skipped due to other commitments, Christmas or special podcast episodes that we didn’t number (because of E3 or EGX, mostly). Even so, it’s quite nice to make it all the way to our centenary.
We didn’t want to stray from the formula too much but there was an early quiz and a new section in the quiz’s usual spot where we played a game called Just a Minute. Let us know if you like hearing us playing silly games or if you’d rather we stick to saying silly things without much purpose. It was quite fun.
Aside from that, it was mostly business as usual. After we discussed some big news – Ubisoft’s firing of Patrice Desilets, the Panopticon countdown (count up?), Saints Row IV gameplay and Gran Turismo 6’s potential unveiling – we moved on to what we’ve been up to.
Thankfully, TSA’s most roving of reporters – Teflon – was on as a podcast guest so he kicked us off by talking about Deadpool’s upcoming game. Then Kris talked a bit about Injustice: Gods Among Us which finally arrived at his house this week. I made some passing comments on Insomniac’s first multiplatform game, Fuse, and Kev talked about Paper Titans for iOS.
Lewis finished off this section by telling us about a fascinating film he saw this week about the wrongful conviction of three men in Arkansas and the bewildering mess that was made of the investigation. That film is called West of Memphis and he strongly recommends it, if you’re after an interesting watch this week.
Finally, we played our game and answered a load of brilliant listener questions.
- Please send us questions via email to podcasts[at]thesixthaxis.com.
- You can also tag your questions on Twitter with #tsacast and, provided you’re not on a private account, we’ll see them in our search each week. Finally, as usual, there’s a questions thread in the forum.
This podcast features strong language, jokes in poor taste and adult themes, if you’re offended by that then we recommend that you don’t listen to it at all.
- As usual, you can grab the MP3 file here (right click to download).
- You might want to get it (when the RSS catches us) on the RSS feed, here.
- Or we’re on iTunes, when iTunes feels like updating. You can also leave us a review and subscribe there, if you want to be particularly lovely.

Congrats! Can’t believe you guys have hit number 100. Has it really been that long?
As someone who has listened since the first one, can I once again request an uncut/out-takes special of the ‘unsuitable for broadcasting’ bits?
After all, the world is two years older now so society might be to handle it.
Keep up the good work!

considering what usually gets left in, i dread to imagine what they think is unsuitable for broadcasting. O_O

Ow, and I thought you would answer my ‘favourite game ending’ question in the podcast, as I think is a good one actually :P I need to watch the documentary “West of Memphis”, as it sounds very interesting.

congrats on the century.
i missed Moira. ^_^
i got one question right on the quiz, it would be the Minecraft question wouldn’t it? o_O
one thing that bothered me about the Fuse demo.
i don’t know if i was just missing something, but i couldn’t find any way to crouch when not in cover.
either hide behind a convenient waist high wall or stand bolt upright, making yourself a big target.
i found that pretty annoying.
has the games industry reached a point where paying for a game and getting the whole game is now considered a special feature?
loving the Just a Minute bit, it’d be great if you did it every week.
my favourite number, 42.
any readers of The Guide will know why. ^_^
