Sony Releases Driveclub Gameplay Captured In Full 1080p

Driveclub has had its ups and downs during development. First revealed at the PlayStation Meeting last year we expected to see this next gen racer on PlayStation 4 at launch, but it was pushed back as more work was needed and there was a tentative early 2014 release date. However, that date was also pushed back with a new release of October for this year, almost a year after the original scheduled date. It was also confirmed Driveclub would be running at 30fps, in 1080p. Now Sony has released full gameplay videos in 1080p.

That’s one of seven videos released today, and it looks great though there seem to be some issues with aliasing. Here’s another bit of gameplay for you to judge.

The other five videos can be found on the PlayStation Driveclub page under the 1080p tab, and here’s a handy link to guide you to them.

  1. Looks good but that anti-aliasing definitely needs a bit of attention.

  2. One thing I’ve always hated about driving games – in first person it’s how bloody unnaturally the hands move on the steering wheel. Like they’re glued in place.

Also I’m not very good at them

  3. Looks a lovely game, and the AA issues are not that bad (though still a blemish on next gen perhaps). Project Cars does look better, but still, this game is far from rusty.

  4. Well if the interiors are accurately modelled I, for one, am going to cancel my order for a Pagini Zonda first thing tomorrow morning.

    • Zonda is so last gen now anyway, it’s all about the Huarya these days.

      • Are you guys talking about football or something? You seem to be speaking foreign.

      • Nothing beats a NA 7.3 litre V12. The Zonda was a far better sounding machine!

  5. In the battle of the 30FPS racers, The Crew still looks more fun. This comes off rather sterile. I’d rather have a next-gen Motorstorm with a diverse setting (and less crashing into walls).

If we’re gonna race on b-roads and such, let us at least have branching paths to make things interesting.

  6. Looks good to me, but I still think Project Cars is where my money will be going.

  7. I’ve check out the videos on both YouTube and the Playstation site and the compression on YouTube really affects the quality on playback. On the PlayStation site the videos look very crisp.

I love the Zonda video where the driver hits the wall and one of his hands lifts from the steering wheel.

  8. Can’t be said enough – that lighting is crazy good.

  9. Downloaded it for the best quality view, still a teensy bit of aliasing and i thought i saw a slight horizontal screen tear at one point, but holy shizzle it looks lovely.

  10. I was excited for this at launch, but with all the delays it’s gone a bit meh.

The huge open-world of The Crew is exciting me more now.
