PlayStation Store Update: 14/01/15 – Joe Danger 2, Atelier Ayesha And A Driveclub Price Drop

Having skipped a week for a slightly extended holiday, the PlayStation Store updates are back, and there’s quite a collection of stuff to sift through. The PS Vita, for example, gets to enjoy the release of Atelier Ayesha Plus (with a bonus too!) and a port of Joe Danger 2: The Movie, as well as the free to play Fat Princess: Piece of Cake game.

Ubisoft are leading the charge with DLC for both Far Cry 4 and Assassin’s Creed Unity – with AC Unity’s Dead Kings DLC being free, to apologise for the game’s issues at launch. Sega join in the DLC fun with Safe Haven for Alien: Isolation.

Far Cry 4, meanwhile, is joining the January Sale, though the PS4 version of the game is only dropping as far as £44.99/€49.99, which will still be quite difficult to swallow compared to prices at retail. More palatable is the price drop for Driveclub, who can now pick the game up for £19.99/€24.99 as a PS+ subscriber or for £34.99/€39.99 without, in what seems to be a permanent drop announced by Rushy on twitter, rather than as part of the store update.

  1. Nice price drop for Driveclub, but not sure I have time for it.

    I’ll pick up the FC4 DLC since I got the season pass (for free)!

    Might get that Fat Princess thing for Vita, although it got annoying on iOS as you have to wait for your stamina or whatever to re-charge.

  2. i think they’re hoping we all forget that we were ever supposed to get a version of Driveclub with our Plus subs.

    • You only get the India tracks with the Plus version if I remember correctly.
      To be fair, I understand some people are a bit skint, but for those who can afford £20, I can’t believe they’re still holding out for the Plus version. That game is a STEAL for 20 Bucks!!! Just buy the bloody thing! ;)

        have to admit its a bloody good racer.

      • Yep! It’ll soon be time to kick up some Cherry Blossom as they’ll be releasing the new Japanese tracks shortly. For free too.

      • I’m tempted by Driveclub for £20. I need a good racer on my PS4 and I feel like GT has lost it’s way over the last few entries. I have some money still in my PS wallet so watch this space.

        Is the online working better now?

      • Go for it! It’s been working fine for me for weeks & they’re constantly updating & making improvements.
        The single player tour mode alone has enough races to keep you occupied for a good few weeks as it is

    • there has been no updates on the plus version..its gone dark,off the radar,but while it still sells can you blame them?

  3. The Driveclub discount is pretty decent. I paid a bit more when i bought it but considering i’m still playing it three months later i feel like i’ve gotten great value from it, and indeed i can’t see myself being finished with it for some time yet.

    • I paid £35 for the Plus upgrade to full game when it was first released, then I bought the season pass for £20 a couple of weeks back – Well worth the money. I’m still battling through the Elements Tour. I think with the Season Pass you get another 2 Tour Events per month ’til around July time so I’ll still be playing this ’til at least Autumn time

      • I picked up the Elements Tour and if i was a more accomplished driver i would go for the season pass – as it is i’m still inching my way through the main tour but even so, i often load it up just to enjoy a few single events.

      • I severely struggled to make it to the last event of the Elements Tour. Took me ages just to get 1 more star to qualify. So far I’ve managed to get 0 / 9 stars for the last 3 races of he event. lol
        It is granite. Not even Luke Skywalker could see to drive at night in the snow on the last race, with or without his Blast Shield down!

  4. Could that DriveClub price drop be hinting we’ll be seeing the Plus edition next month? I hope so, I need a new game to play!

    Also, is the Unity DLC free for everyone or just those that bought it on release? I might add it to my collection just in case they decide to start charging for it at some point (this is Ubisoft after all!)

  5. Dead Kings seems good, but glitchy as hell. Not gonna play any more until it gets patched.

    • What’s the problem with it? I’ve not had any problems, or indeed any problems with the main game either. Apart from a single co-op mission that went a bit wrong. And The Mysterious Floating Teacup.

    • My copy arrived on Friday. I’ve managed to complete the main story and I’ve started the Dead Kings.

      I’ve noticed the normal little glitches most AC games have like random people walking into walls or someone running on the spot on top of a carriage which I can handle.

      What is annoying though is when I’ve tried clicking on Initiates Mode (whatever it is), it always says it can’t connect, then once I’m back in the game my character can’t move and the ‘select’ button doesn’t work either.

      I found a way around this by getting to the map via the touch pad button and fast travelling elsewhere.
      Last night I made the mistake of trying Initiates again whilst on Dead Kings. I then had to quit the game as my character was frozen and I had nowhere to fast travel to.

        Eh? What is this mysterious ‘select’ button that you refer to?? Does it actually ask you to press ‘select’ on the PS4 version? That’s really bad if so.

      • Ah ok, for a second there I thought that they had coded a message in to ‘press select’ for the framework & then lazily forgot to remove it or something.

        I wouldn’t put it past them. It is Ubi after all.
