I Am Bread Fully Baked, Leaves Steam Early Access

Fresh from the oven.

Have you ever wondered what your loaf gets up to when you’re not in the room? Nope, me neither. Bossa Studios have gone ahead anyway and given us a glimpse into the world of bread.

“Since its Early Access release in December, Bossa’s team of Master Bakers have been constantly refining I am Bread’s recipe with the addition of fresh ingredients such as new levels, modes and gameplay tweaks,” explained Bossa. “Those who have already tasted I am Bread have had their hunger for innovative gaming well and truly sated, but now it’s time to feast on the whole loaf.”

As seen in the rather crazy trailer above, there have been some new environments added to the full release. The Car level will see you get behind the wheel as a piece of bread and cause some mayhem. However, my particular highlight from the trailer is Gas Station where you control a piece of bread that is “constantly searching for a way to toast itself”. A tutorial has also been added for newcomers to get used to the ‘unique’ control scheme.

Steam Achievements and Trading Cards have also been added to the game, along with the addition of “Magic Marmalade”. If you’re struggling on a particular level, smash a jar of this to disable the grip and edibility meters and say goodbye to your rage quit face.

I Am Bread is available now for £9.99/€12.99/$12.99. If you want to slice the price further then the game is available with a 25% discount for the first week.

They’ve actually managed to crowbar something resembling a game into it. Bravo!

Watching the Achievement Hunter people playing this is a highlight.

I never thought I’d see the day where a developer makes a game about bread!
