Loading screens: the bane of many a gamer’s life. Too much time has been wasted looking at a small icon spinning around in the corner of the screen, or a bar filling up along the bottom of the screen. Many have tried to jazz these up. Killzone 2 has ‘moveable’ loading screens, FIFA has playable loading screens and Metal Gear Solid 4 has extremely long loading screens, which made you consider taking up smoking!
The uniquely-styled 3D Dot Game Heroes is apparently presenting us with some rather amusing ones however. A keen-eyed Japanese blogger has spotted that the loading screens within the game parody some great games of the past. These include Final Fantasy, Castlevania, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Street Fighter and many more. Maybe instead of boredom during loading, we will experience ‘oh, what was that game called?’
Below you will find just a portion of the loading screens, along with the ‘answers’.
