Microsoft Sue Datel

Remember back in November when Datel filed an antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft after their decision to render all “unauthourised memory units” useless? Well, Microsoft are now suing Datel over third-party 360 controllers.

Microsoft have lodged complaints against Datel in both the US and the UK claiming that five patents have been infringed in the creation of these unofficial 360 controllers.

The Seattle Times is reporting that MS are looking for monetary damages, attorney fees and injunction relief. Microsoft spokesman Kevin Kutz said:

We have a robust licensing program that ensures high standards and contributes to a great experience for the Xbox gamer community. We have a responsibility to protect that program and the companies that are part of it, as well as our own intellectual property.

Datel have yet to make any comment on the situation.
