MGS: Rising Gameplay

In a surprise to no one, Kojima appeared on the Microsoft stage to talk about Metal Gear Solid: Rising, with footage showing Raiden and some rather nifty destructive swordplay.

Whether the swordplay means we’ll have motion support is not yet known, but be warned it is gory, very gory.

  1. reminds me exactly of afro samurai the slow mo dicing never got olf still one of my fave games to this day

  2. wow, so xbox owners will finally get a taste of MG. It looks pretty good, I hope for Kojima’s sake they’re just as exited

    • xbox had mgs2 substance. dunno about anything else.

  3. Wondering why people are so surprised? Kojima stated this game would be taking a step away from the traditional MGS, way before the first trailer! It’s Peace Walker you’re after if you want something more relevant to the MGS story.

  4. mmmmmm…sushi

  5. The slow mo bit stunned me for a second or so, very nasty. Really makes me want a decent kenjutsu beat ’em up a la bushido blade.

Sword of the samurai was great last gen but kengo 3 just didn’t do it for me.

  6. arrghhh i really want to watch these videos but im stuck in work and my home internet is fucked! is it like Devil May cry?

    • no, don’t know if a comparison would be accurate or helpful tbh mate. I certainly can’t think of anything.

  7. looks really cool… if not a true MGS game, especially since there doesn’t seem to be that much “Solid”. Anyway, sword overkill ftw.

  8. this game is going to be mental love the slicing.

  9. Well it’s not tactical espionage anymore is it. It’s LIGHTNING BOLT ACTION! And i think this has just become my most wanted game. Can’t wait to cut some watermelon and the tops of people’s heads off O-ren Ishii style

  10. Wow, this is the first MGS I’m actually interested in, I’m not a fan of guns if you hadn’t guessed.
