Mass Effect 2 PS3 Teaser

It may not be much, but in case you missed it, here’s the teaser for the PS3 release of Mass Effect 2 from EA’s press conference earlier today.

“The PlayStation 3 edition will include the full Mass Effect 2 game and hours of bonus content,” reads the press release, “making this the perfect introduction to BioWare’s award-winning action RPG franchise.” Here’s hoping at least a catch-up video is included with that.

Mass Effect 2 is coming to PS3 in January 2011.

  4. We wont get Mass effect 1 because Microsoft was the publisher of that game.

    • For the 360 version but not for the PC version, at least as far as i know
      So who knows

      • The PC version was published by EA. Keep your fingers crossed guys, part 1 might still make it.

      • Is really unlikely otherwise they would have announced the first one first.

        Not necessarily. ME2 has undoubtedly more marketing potential than the first episode, which has many flaws and is a harder sale. But depending on the success of ME2, a ME1 port could certainly get the green light at a later time. Would make sense before ME3 is released.

  7. Won’t be getting this unless they release ME1 too which is unlikely.

    • Yeah kinda disappointed we’re not getting that rumoured double pack.

      • Would have snapped a copy right away on release day if it had both. Would have playing through it again on a PS3.

  8. I’d laugh SO hard if it popped up “To Wii”. There would be a worldwide catastrophe then. But again, we need, I repeat, NEED ME1. It was WAAAYYY better than ME2. I like my RPG elements in a RPG.

    • Agree completely. Even though planet exploration got a tad boring, the RPG elements in ME1 were so predominant and made it brilliant.

  9. hopefully they’l either include ME1 in the package or release it under another name, like mass effect prologue or something, because just a recap video would be disappointing.
    i can only assume the reason the original isn’t being ported is a legacy of the publishing deal ms had for the first game.
    but as we know, that doesn’t mean it will never come to ps3.
    personally i’m hoping this means mass effect 3 will be released on ps3 the same time the xbox version is, whenever that will be.

    • I’m guessing the xbox version will be a timed exclusive since its always been an xbox franchise. But I reckon we’ll defintaley see it.

      • it’s been on PC, and not as Games for windows live, so it’s not a microsft franchise

      • No, Bioware developed it and Microsoft published it (paid for it) EA then bought Bioware and licensed the game for them to publish it on PC.

        Whichever way you add it up, Microsoft ‘own’ ME1.

        I presume Bioware’s expertise on 360 and/or a timed exclusivity arrangement, lead to ME2 appearing first on 360.

        What happens with ME3 will more than likely be open to negotiation

  10. Glad I will finally get to play this, and presumably it will mean Mass Effect 3 will be launched at the same time as the 360 version (Bioshock style).

    It will be interesting how they explain the lack of part 1 though, hopefully it will be a modified version that includes extra features/levels to get you up to speed with the story…
