Sorcery’s Disappearing Act

It’s probably fair to say that as far as PlayStation Move is concerned, Sorcery stole the show at E3. The game, more than any other title, seemed to show off all the ingredients of Richard Marks’ fantastic Move tech demos, all in one lovely package.

Although we were mildly disappointed that we weren’t going to get our hands on Sorcery before Christmas, we were comforted by the fact we wouldn’t have to wait too long into the new year. Or so we thought.

A couple of days ago Sony took the chance to remind customers of all the PlayStation Move titles due for release in the remainder of this year and through to the announced titles of 2011. Strangely absent from the list was none other than… yep, you’ve guessed it, Sorcery.

On Sony’s UK PlayStation site, Sorcery still has the release window of Jan-Mar 2011, but over in the US its release window is still TBD. Obviously, the fact that Sorcery has done a vanishing act from Sony’s PlayStation Move list could be an oversight, but would Sony really miss the poster-child of Move off their list of upcoming ones to watch? The question now being asked in internet-land is whether Sorcery is the latest Sony title to face a delay. We’ll pass on word as soon as we get it.

  1. I think it had such a good following at e3 and its so close to xmas they won’t want to make a big announcement just yet about a delay for Move titles, especially if they’re decent!

  2. I bought my first Move Controller today and i have been mucking about with the demos , got to say its fantastic . I am not to interested in this wizard thing (never even seen a Potter film) , Im awaiting Virtua Tennis 4 .
I hope to pick up a cheap used copy of Sports Champions in the meantime but Virtua is what im most looking forwards to .

  3. Maybe Europe will get it before the US, I dunno why and it doesn’t sound logical for Sony to favour the EU over everyone else, but it’s a possibility

    • Move will be big in the EU… The US will be a much tougher nut to crack

  4. this would be the only reason for me to buy the move, i jusr love the premise of this so i hope it doesn’t get shelved

  5. If socery is succesfulldoes that mean we will see a move edition of a harry potter game?

  6. This reminds of how great we thought Milo was going to be but it turned out to be nothing more then a tech demo.

hopefully Sony will keep Sorcery alive and eventually release it.
only then will they really pose a threat to microsoft and kinect

  7. I’m with Serebii.Net, I have inclination to get move at the moment but was sure going to be tempted once I had seen how well this did. Luckily I have other gaming stuff to purchase in-between :-s

  8. *no inclination

  9. Not surprised. I wasn’t expecting it until the summer especially with the likes of Killzone, Motorstorm & LittleBigPlanet out between Jan and Mar.

  10. You’re looking too much into it. The game will be released in May/April 2011. If only the real world worked like neogaf would such crazy shit happen.
