PlayStation Store Brings Festive Treats

It’s Christmas (well, nearly) and Sony have a massive pile of cheap games and deals in their PSN Store sack. Split into publishers, there’s a ridiculous amount of content to get through so we’ll just pick out some highlights, directing your eyeballs to the PlayStation Blog for the full rundown.

First up is a bundle of stuff marked Festive Offers, which includes Alien Breed: Impact for £8.99, the entire pile of Blue Toad Murder Files episodes for £9.99 and the likes of Bomberman Ultra for just four quid. Move favourite Flight Control HD has seen a small drop too, down to £3.19, but it’s Joe Danger that’s the beauty here: down from a tenner to a fiver – a must have summer classic sure to brighten up any snowed in disasters.

There’s some Minis on offer, too – Vibes is £1.74, as is Rocks n’ Rockets, Carnivores, Freekscape and Stellar Attack.

Disney weigh in with the PSP version of Toy Story 3 down to £15.99, EA push out both Deathspank games for £6.29 (from £9.99) and there’s a few PSP games like Shift and Dante’s Inferno on offer too. Namco have the recently released Pac-Man Championship Edition DX for just £5.49 too.

SCEE themselves have some of the best offers – Fat Princess for the price of a Sackboy t-shirt, Pixeljunk Shooter’s £3.19 and JAW’s Gravity Crash is just £3.19 too.

Sonic fans will dig Episode One of Sonic 4 for just £5.49, and Sonic Adventure, the Dreamcast classic, is half price as well at just £3.19, which seems to be the sweet spot for most of these discounts. You can also get After Burner: Climax for £3.99.

Square-Enix are here too – Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is down a couple of quid at £5.49, the latest Lara Croft is £7.19 and Anniversary, Legend and Underworld are all discounted. Likewise, look out for some discounts from Ubisoft – although they’re all PSP games.

  1. I’m yet to get Flight Control HD, i’m tempted.

    • If you don’t have Move then i wouldn’t bother as it is quite poor with the DS3.

      • I have Move. But I have the game on my iphone, do i need it on my ps3 too?

      • Not really, unless you have 2 Move’s and want to play multiplayer, as that’s ace

  2. Might have to pick up Lara Croft. Either that or Joe Danger.

  3. Tomb Raider:Underworld is it worth a punt for £9?

    • Depends how much you like Tomb Raider in general I think.

I played it and immediately started comapring it to Uncharted, which is probably not a good idea. That said, 9 quid is fairly good value for a game that will give you a solid 15 hours or so.

      • I did the exactly the same thing.
I played Uncharted 2, then as soon as I finished that I rented Tomb Raider. OMG! Tomb Raider looked bad next to UC2

    • Depends whether you like a platforming, exploring puzzler with occasional shooty bits, Underworld is a big step in the right direction for Tomb raider, the best once since the original trilogy, but the controls are a bit finicky, especially the shooting which Uncharted does so well (which it should do as a 3rd person shooter with very occasional puzzling bits)

  4. Lara Croft – great game, great price.

Joe Danger is great fun too. Both games, especially more-so with a friend.

I’ll go through the PS Blog full list with a fine-tooth comb. Cheers, TSA.

  5. I’ve been holding off buying Joe Danger for a while now. Guess at this reduced price, it’d be stupid not to get it :)

  6. I’m sure i’ll find something in that lot .. but i’ve really got to stop buying games at launch – new years resolution ha ha!

  7. too many games, not enough money. santa needs to bring me some psn cards.

  8. I’m tempted to get Joe Danger. That’s prob all.

  9. Might get Theme Hospital and Theme Park, they were great games. Also might get Tomb Raider 1.

  10. I’ve heard only good things about Joe Danger so maybe I’ll see what it’s like. Also I’ve never played sonic but if its going cheap I might give it a shot!

    • I’m pretty sure there was a demo of Joe Danger at some point. Maybe have a look at that to decide.
