PlayStation Store Brings Festive Treats

It’s Christmas (well, nearly) and Sony have a massive pile of cheap games and deals in their PSN Store sack. Split into publishers, there’s a ridiculous amount of content to get through so we’ll just pick out some highlights, directing your eyeballs to the PlayStation Blog for the full rundown.

First up is a bundle of stuff marked Festive Offers, which includes Alien Breed: Impact for £8.99, the entire pile of Blue Toad Murder Files episodes for £9.99 and the likes of Bomberman Ultra for just four quid. Move favourite Flight Control HD has seen a small drop too, down to £3.19, but it’s Joe Danger that’s the beauty here: down from a tenner to a fiver – a must have summer classic sure to brighten up any snowed in disasters.

There’s some Minis on offer, too – Vibes is £1.74, as is Rocks n’ Rockets, Carnivores, Freekscape and Stellar Attack.

Disney weigh in with the PSP version of Toy Story 3 down to £15.99, EA push out both Deathspank games for £6.29 (from £9.99) and there’s a few PSP games like Shift and Dante’s Inferno on offer too. Namco have the recently released Pac-Man Championship Edition DX for just £5.49 too.

SCEE themselves have some of the best offers – Fat Princess for the price of a Sackboy t-shirt, Pixeljunk Shooter’s £3.19 and JAW’s Gravity Crash is just £3.19 too.

Sonic fans will dig Episode One of Sonic 4 for just £5.49, and Sonic Adventure, the Dreamcast classic, is half price as well at just £3.19, which seems to be the sweet spot for most of these discounts. You can also get After Burner: Climax for £3.99.

Square-Enix are here too – Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is down a couple of quid at £5.49, the latest Lara Croft is £7.19 and Anniversary, Legend and Underworld are all discounted. Likewise, look out for some discounts from Ubisoft – although they’re all PSP games.

  1. every time i buy something off the psn it gets reduced the following week ;(

  2. Pixeljunk Shooter, Infinity Gene, Deathspank: ToV, and LC & The Guardian of Light will get a look from me I think. Nice prices.

This is why I think the implementation of PS+ is so poor though. People will buy these, having no idea what is coming up on PS+….then be disappointed when the games they’ve bought come up. Good for Sony you might think, except the way it works will be putting people off subscribing to PS+. It should just be a case of assigning “tokens” each month for users to spend on whatever games/themes/etc they like, with different downloads having different token costs.

  3. Valkyria Chronicles 2 at £13.99 – perfect for Xmas at the in-laws.
