PS3 Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network is Down

Well, it wouldn’t be a PS3 launch if there wasn’t a massive online mishap, now would it? Reports are coming in that the Cerberus Network for the recently released PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 has gone dark. This means you may have the game in hand (if you’re in North America), but you won’t be able to avail of the Mass Effect Genesis comic as – you’ve guessed it – the graphic novel requires the Cerberus Network to be up and running.

More details can be found over at this hilarious EA support conversation.

As seen in the chat, the issue is expected to be resolved in the next 24-48 hours. So, should be okay for us Old Worlders when it releases over on this side of the pond on the 21st.

  1. PSN _really_ sucks, doesn’t it?

    • EA….

      • agreed EA…

      • Yeah definitely EA, the debacle that was the launch weekend of Bad Company 2 still haunts me!

  2. With Killzone3 and LBP2 being released right about now I think I might wait at least a few months before I pick this up. I really bet that after all the butthurt sony has had with PS3/PSN online they won’t miss a trick with PS4.

  3. Nicholas sounds nice.

    • Nicolas is paid to sound nice.
      :)

    • Please wait for a few moments while I check to see if Nicholas is nice.

  5. As expected, most games are like this on the first few days

  6. I remember the PC version having similar issues at launch. Not exactly SONYs fault dudes.

  7. Is’nt it supposed to be released on the 21st?

    • 18th in NA, and we have lots of readers from the New World so this is more for them.

I’ve added a couple of lines to the article just in case people are freaking out.
