Crysis 2 PS3 Demo Removed From The PSN

The PS3 demo of Crysis 2 has been the subject of much debate lately when compared to to its Xbox 360 and PC counterparts.

Well, that’s not an issue anymore as EA have pulled it from the PSN. An EA statement reads as follows:

“Thank you for your interest in the PlayStation 3 version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo.

Though many gamers have had a great experience playing the demo, we are aware that others have been experiencing server connection delays.

We’ve identified the root cause and have decided to close the PS3 demo in the next 24 hours to ensure all issues are resolved when the game launches next week. Our priority is to ensure that the final product is flawless at launch.”

  1. What a waste of download time that was, I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Good job I’ve got unlimited downloads with my ISP.

  2. Multiplayer demos never do seem to work well, not in my experience anyway.

    • I am with you on that, you have to wait for others to play the demo they should just make them single player

    • That is true and the MP demos are always lower quality although i don’t really care about picture quality as long as it doesn’t look like a NES game i’m happy i care about story and game play in that order

  3. Sad news :( I downloaded the demo yesterday and am having a blast with it. Visuals certainly could be better, but some of the visual effects and awesome. Anyone wanna buy me a copy, I’m out of money thanks to KZ3 and Mortal Kombat ;)

  4. I hope this whole thing backfires on Crytek, bunch of liars, “challenge me to find any differences between 360 and PS3” who is this guy kidding !!!

    • dude wait for the whole game don’t judge anything based on a demo especially a multiplayer demo ok

  5. Hmm, awesome. I only downloaded the Crysis demo yesterday. I got to play a fair bit last night, connected fine every time for me.

Then I foolishly downloaded the PC demo to find out it the trial period was already over. Ugh.

  6. Pff, I set this to download last night, waste of bandwidth.

  7. Wasn’t the PS3 multiplayer demo old code? Should we not wait for the full version before we judge? I managed to get a couple of games in last night and it was good fun. I wasn’t overwhelmed by the graphics, but if it is old code then there could be significant improvements with the final version. I’m more of a single player type person anyway, and am looking forward to the campaign. Still day one for me.

  8. Just as a heads up, I think they just pulled the plug. Have been playing it all morning absolutely fine and now I can’t get past the start screen :( Shame as I was really enjoying the game. Definately a buy for me

  9. Ahh well. The PS3 demo wasn’t anything special anyway. I think I’ll just stick to the PC version.

  10. not had one problem with the demo confused it looked good to me RDR comparisons spring to mind.
