The PS3 demo of Crysis 2 has been the subject of much debate lately when compared to to its Xbox 360 and PC counterparts.
Well, that’s not an issue anymore as EA have pulled it from the PSN. An EA statement reads as follows:
“Thank you for your interest in the PlayStation 3 version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo.
Though many gamers have had a great experience playing the demo, we are aware that others have been experiencing server connection delays.
We’ve identified the root cause and have decided to close the PS3 demo in the next 24 hours to ensure all issues are resolved when the game launches next week. Our priority is to ensure that the final product is flawless at launch.”

ill still be buying it for my ps3 as long as the disconnections have been sorted out.
i looked at side by side comparrisons of pc vs xbox vs ps3, and to be honest who didnt think the PC was going to win. however xbox’s images did look a bit more crisp over the ps3, however elements that are present in the pc version, such as moving energy bar and mini map effects, were not present on the xbox version of the comparrison but were on the ps3 version.
other elments like an underwater effect, the ps3 version hits closer to the look and feel of the pc version than the xbox version.
however the ps3 version did look at some points to have a blur effect on the go, dont know if this was just to smooth jaggies, the contrast looked brighter and because of this lightened up shadows and possibly made suttle shadows non visible. but if thats just a contrast issue im going to file it under not an issue
i never saw the frames drop either, but the videos didnt really show any running around.
over all in the videos i saw (curse the demo being down) it didnt look too bad to me and because of this i will continue not to buy xbox live and keep my xbox soley for when exclusives arrive.
if i could afford id upgrade my pc to play, but hey we cant afford it all.

Oh wow, thats lame. Well don’t worry guys it was pretty shitty anyways from what i played.

Crysis 2: How Not To Launch A Game
First off get the writer to slag off every other gaming franchise enjoyed by many millions of gamers.
Release loads of footage with the action looking specifically generic & last gen.
Seem to favour one console over another alienating almost 50% of potential customers
Fall out with the worlds most popular gaming site over its views of your product
Launch a demo which doesn’t work
Wonder what else can go wrong?
To me this seems little more than an expensive marketing tool for their CryEngine 3 middleware & its not even doing that very well.

They announced yesterday that saturday night would be crytek night for the PS3. Fail! :p That does make it seem like this was EA’s decisin not Crytek’s.

This has been an absolute joke! I managed to get 1 game through many attempts to connect and when I did get a game I was shocked at how bad it looked and played for that matter.

I’m glad i tried it early and the demo was OK, I hope SP isn’t short…

Crysis is crap anyway, played the first one, it was boring, played the demo yesterday (after a few connection issues) liked some of the ideas, but the overall feel of the game is just COD with Tech suits, not really my kind of game.
and to all the people complaining that the PS3 version looks bad, it’s the developers fault, not the console itself, just remember that before spouting off the usual drivel.
aphex187
It is not COD and I wish everyone would stop referencing that game against every FPS released! If anything it’s reminicisent of FEARs PC MP.
MaD dOctoR 79
hey, I’ve actually played the game, so I’ll reference it too whatever the hell I want to, and COD fits perfectly well…both vastly overrated.
maybe if the single player turns out to be a different feel than the multiplayer, I might change my mind, but as it is now, not really interested at all.
Smallville2106
I won’t be getting this.
Corbula
I played the demo yesterday. I got about 3 games in about an hour and half, due to loads of connection issues.
I’m not getting it now. Well done EA, you’ve lost yourself a sale.
Bankzy108
I was thinking of getting this to fill a void at the moment, but now I think I will pass. I played the demo yesterday in the day and had 10 games in 2 hours and then went to play with a mate at night and we only got like 3 games in 2 hours. It’s stupid to even put a demo out if you can’t even play a game for ages as it disconnects every 10 seconds. The multiplayer was alright, but the issues really let it down and EA doing what they have done has just sealed its fate on my part. After reading the Homefront review on here, I might just get that instead. Thanks again EA! =|

Hope sales are miserable on PS3.

What a nasty, spiteful, narrow-minded and uninformed comment!
