Rumour: God of War 4 Out September 2012

Rumours regarding the development of the next instalment in the God of War franchise have been circulating for a while now, bolstered by the name appearing on an animator’s CV.

PSM3 claim to have more though:

“PSM3 has heard from another source that God of War 4 is coming, and will hit in September 2012. Our source works closely with the God of War universe, and let slip he’d be working on a related project at the same time.”

Whilst a new game isn’t exactly shocking, it’ll be interesting to see where they take the series. Despite a somewhat loose ending, many would consider Kratos’ journey to have reached a conclusion (plus, who the heck is left to kill?).

A new protagonist, perhaps?

  1. His brother….bound to be his brother

So they fucked him over by posting it? Nice.

    • Good point. Hope he doesn’t lose his job.

  3. Might get round to finishing the first three by then……

  4. thought it was always only meant to be a trilogy?

  5. Oh, yes please, that would be brilliant!

  6. God of War does all the Pharoes and the Egyptian gods. Or for a truly headline grabbing effort why not go at Chritianity

  7. To be honest i think they should leave it as a trilogy but obviously they’re after the money it’ll inevitably make. Anyway, i’d be more interested in a a sequel to Dante’s inferno :)

  8. Nice, it was always going to come back sooner rather than later.

Just rented GOW3 last week for something to do and actually love it. graphics are on a par with Uncharted 2 and to me better than Crysis 2 from what I have seen.

Looking forward to playing as Kratos in Mortal Kombat tomorrow :)

  9. Surely the route of exploring the brother and his story can be the only logical choice to go with, without it feeling forced… And even then I am a bit doubtful. Hope it doesn’t taint an otherwise great series!

  10. ah it will probably be a villain – that is actually his father…
