PSN Store “Not Reopening Tomorrow”

Quick news update for anyone expecting the PlayStation Store to be open tomorrow: apparently it’s not going to be.

“The latest information I have on PlayStation Store,” says SCEE’s James Gallagher, “is that we are aiming to have it live by the end of May.”

“Contrary to popular rumours, it will not be reopening tomorrow but we will let you know [on the EU blog] as soon as the date is confirmed.”

Seems like Sony didn’t tell developers that today was the day, then.

    • Its okay, you’ll learn if its fake or not

    • They have to report on rumour/speculation if it has a chance of being true. If they didn’t then the readership would think the site wasn’t giving them the information they wanted and would go else where.

  3. So thats 35 days of PS+ down the swanny and counting, meaning that this welcome back tripe is getting worse by the day. Non subscribers get 30 days free, actual subscribers getting 24 even if it went up tomorrow, 17 if it is the end of May.

    • I thought that subscribers were getting all of their time back plus the free 30 days? i.e. if you can’t access your content for 40 days (for example), you get the 40 days back plus the 30 free days that everyone else is getting? Or have I gotten the wrong end of the stick?

      • I think that was the plan. Two months was added to my account last friday, but it’s pretty shitty if the store isn’t up before the 31th, that means 40 days of downtime.

  7. GAR!! I’ve been wondering what was up with it. For me this is probably better, I used all this months bandwidth so I’m on a 64kbps (slow) bandwidth cap. It better hurry though, it’s been a month. In the voice of Sandal from DA2: I WANT SOME PIE!

  8. Oh Jizz! I was looking forward to the first Dirt 3 meet tonight after using the online pass at the store. Ah well next week it is then. :S

  9. So if people have had their PS+ subs updated, how can they use them without the store? If they were updated on the 20th that’s potentially ten days less than they were promised.
    I just want to give Sony my money but they are making it difficult.

  10. I can’t wait ’till all is back to normal, so I can dl all of that juicy DLC that’s been piling up over the past month! :D
