PSN Store “Not Reopening Tomorrow”

Quick news update for anyone expecting the PlayStation Store to be open tomorrow: apparently it’s not going to be.

“The latest information I have on PlayStation Store,” says SCEE’s James Gallagher, “is that we are aiming to have it live by the end of May.”

“Contrary to popular rumours, it will not be reopening tomorrow but we will let you know [on the EU blog] as soon as the date is confirmed.”

Seems like Sony didn’t tell developers that today was the day, then.

  1. I’ll be VERY disappointed if it doesn’t return in time for the weekend.

    • I suspect you are likely to be VERY disappointed then!

      They will more than likely get the stores back up for their relevant update day. 1st June for the uk (so will probably be back up on or around 31st May)

SONY is full of Bs they could of turn the psn store on today they could have ppl buy psn cards so ppl can buy games and add on in the psn store.. they should disable all the credit card feature on the ps3 and psp they only should allow ppl too use psn cards until they can fix the problem with the credit cards its almost memorial day weekend i know they really not gonna wait till after memorial day weekend to turn on the psn store they would make more profit if they turn it on before memorial day ppl will be home so ppl will probley buy stuff using a psn card ONLY

  8. i just checked my plus account status, and it says it is now due to run out on the 19th of july, if i got the 60 days free sub that means it was added on friday or saturday, either the 20th or 21st.
    assuming they mean the store will be back next week and not just later this week, that will be nearly two weeks of that sub gone.
    with no store.

    for me it means i’ve got access to my games again, but if you’re a non subscriber getting the 30 days that will be nearly half that sub gone with nothing to show for it, assuming they gave everybody their plus subs at the same time.

  10. there are actual physical shops with physical games you can buy out there…

    I think the relaunch will coincide with e3 now, not bothered anymore, online gaming is back and tbh i haven’t used it except to redeem my portal 2 code and watch a blu ray, it is summer after all

    • Physical shops with physical games can’t activate online passes though can they?

      • I suppose not Tony, didn’t think of that! Seriously though what difference is another week or 2 going to make given the length of time without it now anyway
