Online passes have become the norm for most multiplayer games, the publishers claim these ‘add value’ but we all know they are trying to get a slice of that tasty second hand pie and recoup some of the costs of dedicated servers.
Actually, second hand pie doesn’t sound that tasty unless you are a fan of rummaging through the bins at Greggs.
Anyway, here’s the question: will you pay for an online pass?  Would you prefer it if the pass was locked to a console as Sony are planning to do with Resistance 3 rather than to a single profile, and at what point does the pass become too expensive?
A single click will let us know, and your vote will be immortalised in the halls of history for ever.
The poll closes at midnight, Thursday 4th August and we will publish the results shortly after that.
If you have a suggestion for a future survey then why not drop me a line – tuffcub at thesixthaxis.com – and if you’re lucky you may see yourself on my next Massive Poll.

I would pay if the games MP was worth it and stable, wouldn’t like to pay that money only to have bugs glitches galore and endless amount of patches..If im paying for the online service I would expect a decent online experience not like I get with FIFA always disconnecting during games.. would be very pissed if i payed and wasnt up to scratch…As i currently do not pay I cant really complain about this aspect…
TheChaosGamer
I would if I could, but the price of these will start to add up, I’ll only buy the passes for game’s I KNOW I’ll enjoy the online of.

I don’t really go far military shooters or even a few highly talked about games… I’d never its not worth it to me if I never touch the online modes.

If I want the perks and like the game enough ill buy brand new. If not, ill consider pre owned or wait for each to drop to an acceptable price. Just got to be a little savvy……

God I miss the simplicity of gaming sometimes…
Never will pay for it.

I have no problem with online passes. I feel the publishers should get a cut of the 2nd hand market. All I hope is that the developer gets a royalty for the pass.
Dange
I understand the need for a pass but me, I’ll never buy an online pass.

Ack!
I want to pick both 3 and 4!!
Buy passes for games I’m interested in and for when it works across multiple accounts!
Rocket_345
I could make a case for both 3 and 4. If it’s on a franchise like COD, FIFA, Dirt that i’ve enjoyed previous multiplayer’s on then i’ll definatly buy it. If not i’ll want a trail. However with me and my brother having a PS3 each then i’d like it tied to a machine so we can both download the pass and use the online portion as we share and swap games. Decisions.

I live in America and $60 for a brand new game is tough to come by for every release. I know the situation there is much the same. I would only do this if the $10 fee was compensated in the price of the game. Except for Battlefield. But that wasn’t an option.
